Hi,

I will be on holidays in Athens on Sunday, April 29, 2007.

I am wondering if Panathinaikos are playing a home game on this date, as I would love to see them play live if possible.

I have tried to check on the internet, but I get different fixtures.

Some say on April 29 Panathinaikos is at home against Kalamaria. Others say Pana is at home against Kerkyra. Other sites say Pana is playing away.

Can anyone tell me what the real fixture is on this date?

If Panathinaikos are at home, is it difficult for a tourist to get tickets, and also, how much do the tickets cost?

Thank you for your help!

Hello hammered,

They were to changes in the fixtures of the Superleague this year, and many sites did not update that's why you found different fixtures.

As things are now, on April 29 Panathinaikos are playing with Kerkyra at home, and this will be the last matchday of the Superleague.

It is not difficult for a tourist to get tickets, as long as you are able to go at one of the places they are sold. Usually the tickets for the home games of Panathinaikos are sold in the four following places:
1. Apostolos Nikolaides stadium (old Panathinaikos stadium, Alexandras avenue). The tickets are sold in the gates 4 and 11.
2. Entrance of Kymis avenue
3. Eirini station of the ISAP city-railway network
4. Northeast entrance of the Athens Olympic stadium (From Kiphisias avenue)

The tickets are out about 7-12 days before the game and they are available till the day of the game.
If you want, when you are in Athens you can remind me to tell you the places the tickets will be available and the dates each place will start selling tickets. They will be announced then.

As for the prices, in most games of the Superleague they begin from 10 euros and they can reach 40 euros in the VIP seats.

Thanks for the information PAO HELLAS!

As this is the last matchday of the Superleague, do you think this match is likely to sell-out?

I will actually have my wife and baby daughter with me - is it a safe atmosphere to take them along to the match?

Which tickets would you recommend to have a comfortable view of the game?

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the information PAO HELLAS!

As this is the last matchday of the Superleague, do you think this match is likely to sell-out?

I don't think so, because most possibly the title is lost for Panathinaikos.

Olympiacos are many points ahead and this will change only if things come upside down. If the championship is already won by Olympiacos before the last matchday don't expect much people in the stadium. Spyros Louis Olympic stadium has a capacity of 70,000 and I doubt if it will gather more than 10,000 in the last matchday if the championship is lost.

I will actually have my wife and baby daughter with me - is it a safe atmosphere to take them along to the match?

I would not suggest you to do this in a Panathinaikos-Olympiacos game. Even more if they were fans of both clubs in the stadium, you should not take women or children with you for sure.

However in a Panathinaikos-Kerkyra game I don't think you will have a problem as in such games atmosphere is more family-like.
Besides, you are not going to sit with the fanatic supporters so your baby will not have a problem.

Which tickets would you recommend to have a comfortable view of the game?

Thanks again for your help.

I usually take the cheapest tickets, and sit in Gate 15 or 16.
The view is OK from there, but it is in the of the edge of the stadium's petal and the view is from the corner of the stadium. If you want a more "straight" view of the stadium you can purchase tickets in a nearby Gate with a bit more money. When you will go to buy the tickets, they will show you a draft of the stadium and tell you the prices for each place:

Height does not matter much, you have a good overall view from everywhere.

Also IF they are a few people in the stadium, you can move lower when the game starts, no matter what seat is written in the ticket.

As I said, you can remind me 10 days or so before the game, so I can tell you where tickets for that game are available and how to acess the stadium easily.
