I have to say I was very impressed with our second half display against Spurs but it all could have been so different. We were awful in the first half. I lost count of the amount of times we gave the ball away and because of this we couldn't play the flowing, high tempo football we like to play. We were turned down what looked like a certain penalty and were given one that looked a bit dodgy. I thought it was a pen cos it did look like he caught Ron's foot and if so no matter how easily he went down it was a pen but it's difficult to see if he was actually caught or not. If it wasn't it was justice because the first one definately was

Second half was much like this season's Utd. Some very good football was played and some cracking goals and what a great last ten mins with O'Shea in goal

Ronaldo also hit his goal target and won his bet with SAF. When asked in the post match interview regarding the bet and if he'd paid out to Ronaldo Fergie said Penalties don't count

Yea just what I was thinking. You'll never get one over on Fergie and I'd be surprised if Ron saw 4p nevermind £400

Maybe he got a piece of Fergie's famous chewing gum ;)

Shame to see what happened to V.D. Sar btw, hope he isnt out to long.

Apparently Van de Saar has a broken nose, so he could be out for at least a months worth of games.
Im sure Tomasz Kuchazck wont mind :)

Interesting to note that Fergie wasn't calling for Keane's head like Mr Moaninho on Nicky Hunt.

I'm sure it's not the first time that EVDS has had his nose broken. It looked damned ugly before!!

Yeah it has happened a few times on other occasions, I remember during the World Cup '98 Holland - Argentina where Ortega gave a headbutt to VDS in his face, didn't think he broke his nose back then though, but he's not been the most lucky goalie when it comes to that  .

It did almost seem like Keane did it on purpose, dirty foul.

Well it was hard to say if it was done on purpose so we'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I really can't see anyone wanting to break someone's nose on purpose. Ok then maybe I can  If It had been Robbie Savage or Gerrard I'd be going nuts ;)

Gerrard wouldnt do it on purpose, he is a cleaner player than you give him credit for ;)

Agreed, he's got to much quality to keep himself busy with frustration and bringing down another player IMO

He also said Rooney is injured and is a doubt for Wednesdays game against Spain. More like it was his way of saying I hope he doesn't play. SAF is a great manager, but can be a right bistard at times.

ferguson is usually pretty good at letting players play for their countries. i am pretty sure that rooney took a slight knock. either way england are going to get trounced so i think that it is good that rooneys moral doesnt get lowered.

Good point. I dunno about being trounced but it will be a tough game. I don't really like friendlies in the middle of a Domestic campaign to be honest. I'd prefer that Rooney didn't play ... actually I don't like any Utd players going on International duty if it's a friendly!

Except in Euro 96 and France 98 where we supplied most of the team!!!!
