Well I was the last one that though I would ever ask for help in this sub-forum but I might as well since its here already.

Now, my monitor this weekend all of a sudden got this tanned green color on it. I read about it and I guess it might be some magnetic shit ***ked up inside of it. HAHAHA AND AS IM WRITING ABOUT IT, IT JUST TURNED NORMAL AGAIN.

Minus the distraction I continue, when I punch the monitor it flashes a couple of times and goes back to the regular colors. Or like it just did goes back to it itself (I was kicking it 5 minutes ago and it didn't want to go back to normal, hence the reason I am writing this thread). So any solutions to this before I get a bloody fist?

***KKK!!! I just layed my oatmeal on the desk, it shook the table so little that a seismo ***king meter couldn't sense it and the screen tanned green again.

If the problem was the magnetic layer inside, it wouldn't turn green and go back to its normal state. No, it would just stay green or you would get a spot. Kind of like how when you put something magnetic close to the TV, it kind of loses color on a certain spot. That depends on your monitor though, if it's new it changes color and if it's older you get a spot.

Anyway, I don't think that's the problem though (though I'm not an expert)..It can be the cable that connects your monitor to your PC. To check it, twist the cable around while watching your monitor and see what happens. If it changes color, than it's just the cable and you can tape the cable onto the table or something firm so that it doesn't move and stays stable therefore your monitor doesn't change color.

Let me know if that helps..

If it doesn't, I have one solution for you.. Disconnect the monitor from the PC and the electricity, and pick the monitor up. Make sure though, that you don't hit anything.. God knows you don't want to damage the monitor, after you pick it up firmly.. Throw it out the window

This happened to me before, unfortunatly the only solution is to get a new one. One day it just started going green sometime and then back to color then back to green. As time went on, it became more green than color. Though if u smack it a lot, it tends to come back but in the end we had to byuy a new one

Definitely get a new one.

If you keep it the fuse will eventually blow and you wont see anything.

I have had this problem before.

One issue I had was with the screen randomly fading away to black.

I thought it was a virus, but it turned out to be the bulb within the monitor.

Since I replaced it 5 months ago I havent had a problem :)

This problem occurs to some old moniters, open the back cover and clean all of the dust by a hand pump, particularly on the components around the CRT, dry soldering or loose contacts are also the reasons for this problem.
