Well Pardo doesn't really attack so much as he should, but maybe it's the fact that he's a defensive mid. I don't care he's currently doing well with his club and that's great to hear. :)

Not sure but from what i gathered they actually had only to draw with Cottbus next week to be the Champion of this season Bundesliga. Thats because their biggest rival schalke lost to Borussia Dortmund this week putting stuggart 2 points ahead of them. Both Osario & Pavel Pardo have done excellent at stuggart so its no suprise if they have confidence to add another mexican to the team. I heard so much about Omar Bravo now i got to see him in bundesliga. I really hope the transfer will get thru :)

Brazilian Ewerthon signs for Stuttgart
Tuesday 17 July 2007

http://www.fifa.com/mm/photo/worldfootball/clubfootball/trdv209127%5f12144%5fsq%5fmedium.jpg

Brazilian international Ewerthon has become Bundesliga champions VfB Stuttgart's fifth new signing for the new season, the club announced on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old forward, who made the last of his six appearances for his country in 2003, played for fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund between 2002 and 2005, netting 47 goals in 119 appearances.

He joins fellow Stuttgart newcomers goalkeeper Raphael Schaefer, Brazilian defender Gledson, Turkish midfielder Yildiray Basturk and midfielder Georges Mandjeck.

He joins VfB on loan from Spanish club Real Zaragoza and Stuttgart will have the option to make the loan deal permanent for their new number nine next summer.

Ewerthon said: "I'm delighted to be back in the Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart. It's a dream come true to be able to play in the Champions League with the German champions next season. I'll be doing all in my power to aid VfB in continuing their recent success."

That's true but Timo is not doing that great in Valencia either...things are looking pretty bad in his new club. Valencia has lost many games and recently fired their coach. He should have stayed in stuttgart.

But its still early. It's only been half season there's plenty of time for stuttgart to turn things around. Their next game is against Eintracht Frankfurt on this Sat Dec,24th. Hope they do better...its a shame to see former Bundesliga champ doing so badly ...not that i'm complaining ! :D

emode
11-26-2007, 12:58 AM
^they just had a wake-up called recently and beat Eintracht Frankfurt 4:1 in their last match in the bundesliga.

So, they could be lethal against rangers and want to save some pride in the CL after sufferring four defeats in their last qualifying matches. The game itself will have no meaning because stuggart already eliminated.

N-way being not a stuttgart fan i hope rangers will win it and advance to the knockout stage and stay in the competition.

Marica winner makes Rangers sweat

http://www.uefa.com/multimediafiles/photo/competitions/ucl/627424_mediumsquare.jpg

Ciprian Marica struck five minutes from time as VfB Stuttgart earned their first points of the UEFA Champions League campaign and dealt a blow to Rangers FC's hopes of progressing to the last 16.

Lyon test
Rangers had looked on course for a valuable win on 27 minutes, when less than 60 seconds after replacing Lee McCulloch, Charlie Adam scored with his first touch, lashing in from close range after Carlos Cuéllar had headed in a corner into his path. Cacau equalised on the cusp of half-time, however, before Pável Pardo completed the turnaround on 62 minutes, his fizzing shot taking a slight deflection off Roberto Hilbert as it crept inside the post. Barry Ferguson made it 2-2 but Marica's goal means that Rangers now must get at least a point from their Matchday 6 encounter against Olympique Lyonnais at Ibrox. Stuttgart already knew they could not climb from fourth place in Group E.

Lively start
The match was preceded with an impromptu dance between Rangers mascot Broxi Bear and his VfB counterpart Fritzle but any amicability was soon forgotten in a committed opening. Rangers could have taken the lead on seven minutes but DaMarcus Beasley scuffed his shot with only Raphael Schäfer to beat, and the home side responded immediately as Hilbert broke and delivered an arcing cross that hit Carlos Cuéllar and looped into the arms of the grateful Allan McGregor.

Box to box
While Broxi and Fritzle had done their pre-match routine, German cruiserweight Firat Arslan was interviewed by the stadium announcer and the end-to-end game had more the tempo of a boxing bout than a waltz. Just as Stuttgart began to threaten, Rangers hit back with a sucker-punch, with Jean-Claude Darcheville surging past Matthieu Delpierre before firing a weak effort into the side-netting. At the other end Ciprian Marica, enjoying a rare start in place of the injured Mario Gómez, sent Cacau clear with a delicate touch but McGregor came to Rangers' rescue, saving with his legs.

Cacau flick
True to form, the visitors hit back; Ferguson's shot trickling agonizingly past the upright following a heavy Delpierre deflection. From the resulting corner Ludovic Magnin cleared David Weir's header off the goalline and although McCulloch's injury could have knocked Rangers off their stride, Adam had other ideas. Having lost their previous Group E fixtures it could have been a telling blow yet VfB took stock, and upped the tempo as half-time approached. Cacau and Sami Khedira both had openings before the pressure finally told two minutes into added time, Cacau adroitly flicking in Pardo's driven cross following a short corner.

Ferguson equaliser

Rangers' misery was compounded three minutes after the restart as they lost Beasley to injury and Stuttgart took hold of the game. Just after the hour Pardo made it 2-1, but the lead lasted just eight minutes before Ferguson side-footed into the empty net after substitute Steven Naismith had dispossessed Delpierre and sent in a cross that Schäfer could only to palm into the Rangers captain's path. Marica had the last word, however, flicking in Magnin's cross via a Weir deflection.

Yeah career wise it is better for podolski to move to another club where he'll get more chance to play the full squad. He hardly made it the whole 90 minutes playing with bayern in any game...he was always a sub with only 20 to 30 minutes game time. How is he going to get better if he never given the opportunity?

It's hard to fight for position in bayern squad with klose and luca toni around. A move to stuttgart might be a better thing for him where he will be appreciated. Especially since stuttgart do needs a striker beside Gomez. But i would have prefer for him to stay in bayern.

Uli Hoeness Bayern's director has reacted angrily to stuttgart's director Horst Heldt about his interest to attempted to unsettle striker Lukas Podolski. Hoeness was furious with Heldt for openly discussing a player who still has over two years left to run on his contract.

"How would Stuttgart react if we said that we would be interested in Mario Gomez?" Hoeness said.

"If we had acted like this, there would soon be a letter of protest from Stuttgart."

See i told u podolski is not going to leave bayern for stuttgart. He's much too valuable for bayern munich :)

Bayern Munich are going to let him stay until summer to let him prove all he has..

they still have that requirement in chivas

but we have 4 other players that play for other NTs

I think Altintop is slightly better than Basturk. This guy always starts for Bayern and he is one of their finest. He assists in such fashion, scores in such fashion, can dribble solo goals from half of the field, can be lazy and stop running and shoot on top corner of the goal whenever he wants to, etc.

It looks like Jan Simak will return again in the Bundesliga.

He is on the spot of Stuttgart, with high possibilty this deal is going on. At the moment he is playing for Carl Zeiss Jena.

Would be nice to see him back, good one! :star:

Well stuttgart won 1:0 over Hamburg with a goal from Hilbert!!! There's no threat from Hamburg or Stuttgart anymore for bayern but it's good to see Stuttgart doing better. They are currently fifth in the standing. If they keep it that way at least we will see them in the UEFA cup next season!!

The only reason they won last season was because bayern was really having a hard time and struggling. Once bayern on top form again it's hard for other club to win the bundesliga. But bayern certainly can afford the top players unlike other clubs such as stuggart who cannot afford to buy expensive players. So i think they did good considering......

N-way stuttgart is in the process of buying two midfielders Carl-Zeiss Jena & Martin Lanig. They both played for the 2nd. division clubs.

People get there hopes up to high these days, lets no forget what happened to bayern last season, thats right they finished 4th when probably more than half of the bayern supporters were saying there gonna win it, never say that bayern will win it until it actually happens, there title is not certain yet, theres still 9 games left and second place Schalke i think it is, could easily catch up with a couple of wins, with bayern dropping.....

^What are you talking abt??? There's only 7 games left in the bundesliga not 9.

Well, anyway let's stay in topic and talk about stuttgart here :)

Stuttgart put 50mil-euro price tag on Gomez

BERLIN:
Germany striker Mario Gomez now has a 50mil-euro (US$78mil) price tag as VfB Stuttgart bosses show their determination to keep their hot-shot striker.

The 22-year-old is under contract until June 2012, but both Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have expressed an interest and the defending Bundesliga champions want to keep their goal-machine for as long as possible.

It would be a new Bundesliga record if either Spanish side pay such a high fee for Gomez and the 50mil-euro figure is more than triple his 16mil-euro market value at the start of the season.

what ever same thing 7 games, 9 games i just guessed lol, anyways it can only take a couple of games for stuttgart to get back to being at least 3rd in the bundesliga, last season they dominated bayern and all the other big clubs in the bundesliga Big Time, and it wasnt a fluke win for Stuttgart because last season they were really strong and came out on fire, but this season its a shaky one since there sitting 5th in the bundesliga right now but they do have a chance to make it to 2nd place because there only 3 points behind schalke for 2nd place and anything can happen from now on until the season ends......

Yeah i have to agree if stuttgart keep it up they may be able to end at least 3rd. in the bundesliga standing. They were struggling so much in the early stage but things are looking up for them now. Their striker Gomez is currently out on injury. They will be meeting bayern by the end of this month.

quite wrong man :D, bayern was not that good as the result seems (4:1),
but Stuttgart was disapointing, i mean Bayern had enough points
for the title and stuttgart was heading vor CL qualifikation, so Stuttgart
should have been an agressive team........... But without meira, hitzelsberger and osori , the Team had no stabilty

Now they are talking about the Goalkeeper again, poor Schäfer, i think the will send him home, to nürnberg.

I still think Stuttgart shouldn't have let Timo Hilderbrandt transferred to Valencia last year. This new keeper is nothing like him at all.

Ohhh stuttgart is apparently getting a new keeper to replace that good for nothing Raphael Schafer (their current goalie).

Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann is said on the brink of signing for Stuttgart after meeting with club officials on Monday morning. This is going to be interesting esp since Lehmann has always been one of the best German keeper!! Good luck to stuttgart ...wow if lehmann going to transfer to stuttgart now bayern really need to be careful next season.
