Like its been said , all those Italian teams are just names, how are Lazio doing in the league and CL??? They have scored 3 goals andconceded 5 ... Impressive , and they were knocked out of the CL conveniently to focus on their title ambitions in Italy..... What makes them so great? None of those teams mentioned have done anything outside your precious league in the last 3 years. It doesnt matter really, Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham are big clubs , does that mean that the EPL is a better league then ?

Spain may only have 4 or 5 good teams, but they are better than the best Italy has to offer...Italy have 4 decent clubs at the moment -Juve.. Roma... Inter and AC....... Anybody else isnt worth mentioning....

OK, I see what you mean, and I agree with you - up to a point. To say Parma, Lazio and Fiorentina are currently "world-class teams" is doing them a favor. Lazio does have an impressively EXPENSIVE squad, which is quite different from having a world-class team. The four Italians you mentioned are, in fact, Italy's current best, and among the world's finest. But then you had to go and say...

I wasnt the 1st person to draw blood. I havent been going on about how great my league is etc. I have been defending my position that the Italian league is not the best in the world in my opinion. I dont think that its crap or anything. I only think that its being over-rated by its fans. sure most fans like to think that there league is the best and most exciting, but its the ons that cant accept even the most blatent arguements , whether or not their plausible..
I was bombarded with criticism and great humour when I said that fergi was the best and defended my position. I was also bombarded with posts when i said that Serie A is not the best anymore. We both have totally the opposite opinions on several points , so why bother argueing, I tried to end it on the note--- You know your league is the best and I know iit isnt , yet you still taunted and i didnt reply to that one. You still persist in argueing your case.

[B]i will leave you with this word..... Most teams and great leagues dont need their fans to defend their position in world football and their status, they let their football do the talking. A person that so desperatly defends its leagues status is either a fan desperate to prove other fans wrong or a fan who wants to believe what they are saying is true. Of course some fanatical fans do support the best leagues and teams but generally they have CONCLUSIVEto back this comment up.......

Drummer, maybe you've already mentioned it, but if you did I must have missed it: we all understand that you don't think Serie A is the "best league" in Europe. Which league is, by your standards, the "best" in the world? Because It's not really clear. Do you think It's the EPL? Or La Liga? Because, I gota tell you that I can't see other candidates. The Bundesliga and Le Championnat aren't nearly in the level of those three.

Maybe if you explain which league you feel is the "best", and why, we can all follow your reasoning or something. :dontcare: It's clear that many WSBoarders feel strongly about Serie A's claim to "best league in Europe"(Is this a "I can pee further" contest or what?!?) , even some non-Italian posters. I think they're just different - some times, some Spanish play can be more entertaining than Serie A. Different flavors, y'know?;)

Exactly , look how they are doing in their league and how they are doing in the CL. Even Roma cant beat them (however unlucky they were). The whole point about the CL is that it undoubtadly prooves that the Italian league CHAMPIONSHIP is not as high a quality league as it used to be, its close but the teams in it , however even they are , arent as good as the best that europe has to offer.. Now this doesnt make a league good or not but its a good barometer as to how good a leagues teams actually are.

So you are basing your arguement on the fact that you think that the Serie A is the most exciting finishes to it. Alot would argue that other leagues have much more exciting indiviuyal matches in their league then in Serie A's. Again I disagree on that point of excitement in individual matches within the league. the Champiuonship is close , but who wants a championship with crap games. Again this is my opinion, so why would I think that your league is th best???

I mean you totally forget about the players etc and you only see that ITA teams havent won a CL in the last 4 years! thats it! The teams have gone far! Semis etc but you insist that the CL is a good grade-scale, and I agree in some part, still you cant judge a whole championship with 3 teams! especially cuz the C itself IS NOT! the CL! When have I said it is crap????? Are my messages encryped and confusing or something. We are discussing on whether or not the serie A is THE BEST or not, on less I am mistaken. Because its not the best doesnt make it crap. You see again you only see down 1 straight road, its either black or white to you, no colors ( ie. if a person doesnt think that Serie A isnt that good or exciting they automatically hate it and think that its useless!!!!!!!!).

I have seen Italian games, I was only watching some matches on channel 4 the other day. They were highlights (normally highlights are the best parts of matches) and were far from eyecatching... I have seen alot of Italian football, I used to be a good fan of Sampdoria, but I have never been lucky enough to witness all this excitement in games and the league you speak of. The league has been close these last few years, that doesnt mean the matches in the league are exciting...........




But I persoanlly will never say that Trezeguet is better than Rivaldo!
