well he is doing alot better than ronaldo ever did, i think even a slight rotation between him and ronaldo would affect the rest of the side too much

Van Nistelrooy: I can play with Real Madrid pal Ronaldo
September 28, 2006

Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy insists he can play with Ronaldo.
There's concern the two are far too similar to play in the same team, but Van Nistelrooy says: "Clearly it is possible because Ronie is a great forward, but we should not forget that in the team there are many forwards like Robinho, Cassano or Reyes. For the team, it is a great advantage to be able to count on so many options in attack.

"In Manchester I played mostly with Scholes behind me, but in Holland with three forwards. I can adjust to the chosen system although I am a typical centre-forward, so I like to play in the most advanced position possible."

New Dad Ruud: It's been a spectacular 24 hours
September 27, 2006

Ruud van Nistelrooy described yesterday as "spectacular" after scoring twice in Real Madrid's 5-1 thumping of Dynamo Moscow and also seeing the birth of his daughter.
"It was a spectacular day because I have had a girl (Moa) and I have been unable to sleep all night, but I am very happy by how things have gone," said Van Nistelrooy.

"I can't believe everything that has happened to me in the last hours. After being at the birth, I have rushed to join my teammates. The victory is important, although we still have four games left and need to continue winning.

"That Ronaldo returns to the team is very good for all because he is excellent."

Ruud is doing great, better than I have thought in the beggining, now with R9 back I'm very curious to see if the can complement each other and become a deadly couple.....for our's and the team's sake let's all hope so.....

nah leon u dreaming too much, it makes no sense to have both roanldo and RVN on the pitch at the same time. they are too simular, if anything they would have to fight each other to start but i wont be surprised to see them both on if we up a goal or two.

I think they could play well, they're not similar, just the position they play! Both do a lot of runs without the ball, but Ruud having better instinct and positioning, while Ronnie is better with the ball on his feet.....

true but to me the only way a guy like ronnie would be usefull is if we dominating with alot of ball possesion upfront, which real almost never has

Real Madrid's Van Nistelrooy delighted with "incredible" 4-goal haul
November 13, 2006

Ruud van Nistelrooy was delighted with his four-goal haul for Real Madrid in last night's 4-1 win at Osasuna.

"Yes, I have scored four once before, two years ago in the Champions League against Sparta Prague," said the former Manchester United striker.

"But today was a unique day, because from four or five chances I scored four goals and that is difficult.

"All the chances came to me and I was able to take advantage. These things don't happen often. It was incredible."

Van Nistelrooy's four-goal performance came at the expense of former United teammate Ricardo, who was between the posts for Osasuna last night.

"On the field I do not have friends but off it Ricardo is a great person. He is a great friend. I changed shirts with him. But I did not take the ball for me because it is a detail without importance."

Real Madrid president tells Van Nistelrooy: You're our key man
November 14, 2006

Real Madrid powerbrokers Ramon Calderon and Pedja Mijatovic are convinced their capture of Ruud van Nistelrooy in the summer was the most important signing made by a Spanish club this season.

Both men were delighted with Van Nistelrooy's stunning four-goal performance at Osasuna on Sunday and Mijatovic said: "It was the perfect game from a centre-forward.

"The only thing missing was a goal with his head. But he managed to show his finishing ability from every angle."

Waiting at the airport yesterday morning for the squad's return was Calderon, who made a beeline for Van Nistelrooy and told the Dutchman: "It was a fantastic game. You are now the key player for the team and I thank you for it. You know that I trust you a lot and I feel proud of everything that you are doing."

Real Madrid's Van Nistelrooy gutted to miss again from spot
November 22, 2006

Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy shrugged off his heroics instead focusing on his missed penalty in last night's 2-2 draw with Lyon.

The Dutchman grabbed the equaliser as Real battled back from going 2-0 down, but also saw his spot-kick saved and said afterwards: "We have fought and we have shown great character. But I am very disappointed to have missed that penalty. It's not good to have missed so many penalties. I believe that we played well in the second-half. The first belonged to Lyon. It was a good result after going 2-0 down."

Teammate Mahamadou Diarra also said: "I was determined to do better tonight than I did in Lyon. I was focused on not repeating the same errors that I made in the away game. Most important for me is to give my maximum for Real Madrid, just like I did for Olympique Lyon, because I do not want to disappoint people. I am ready to make every sacrifice so that everything goes well here."

Based on what they've shown, Ill take Ruud quickly. the outcome hasnt been too pleasing as a fan when both are in the game. But, let me tell you when it comes to scoring, they are very different. Ruud finds a good position and waits for the ball to find him while R9 is not too concerned of the position just give him the ball and he will use his ability to make something happen. The down part of the situation is his shape. The dude looks stuffed. Get that taken care of then we'll see a better outcome. Until then, Ronaldo can warm up the bench with beckham. They should really seek for advice from Raul, who's proving that age is just a number.

Ruud is class and is one of my all time fav players. He is performing amazingly for real and I hope he continues that way. I would rather him still be at united but oh well. He is getting playing time and he is performing.
Though his penalties seem to have gone downhill. IMO Ruud should start ahead of R9.

Well I wouldn't go THAT far. He's not even been there a season! In his first season at Utd he scored 36 goals in all competitions, 44 in 02/03, 30 in 03/04. He scored 95 goals in 150 appearances. He's done well at Madrid so far but I can't see him scoring over 40 goals. He had a bad final season with Utd. Before his transfer he was dropped quite rightfully as he wasn't playing well.

Real definately got a bargain though!

Van Nistelrooy set to win new Real Madrid deal
November 20, 2007

Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to be handed a new two-year contract extension by Real Madrid.

The Dutchman's present deal expires in the summer and Real are scheduling talks in the coming week in order to table the forward a new two-year deal.

Van Nistelrooy's decision to immediately return to Madrid after collecting a knock while on international duty has kicked Real directors into action. The gesture has delighted Real president Ramon Calderon and sports director Pedja Mijatovic. Indeed, coach Bernd Schuster admits he is "amazed" by the professionalism of Van Nistelrooy: "He is the one who has impressed me most as a person."

Terms have already been struck with the former Manchester United striker's agent, Roger Linse, and Calderon hopes to announce the player's re-signing immediately after next week's Champions League tie with Werder Bremen.

Van Nistelrooy celebrates Real Madrid deal with brace
January 13, 2008

Ruud van Nistelrooy celebrated the signing of his new contract with a brace in Real Madrid's 2-0 win at Levante last night.

The Dutch ace admitted afterwards: "It was a tough game. Levante played very well. But we are defending well this season and that has given us the opportunity to score two goals.

"There was a lot of pressure all over the field and in such a situation you have to defend well. But in the end we have managed to impose our quality."

Van Nistelrooy added: "Football is very important, for me it is life, and for that reason I always take care to be at my peak so I can play as well as possible."

Real Madrid's Van Nistelrooy ponders AC Milan option
April 01, 2008

Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been unsettled by interest from AC Milan.

DiarioSport says Milan are willing to offer 4 million at the end of the season to land the prolific Dutchman.

While he recovers from ankle surgery, Van Nistelrooy is considering his situation at Real, having only just signed a new 'lifetime' contract with the Spanish giants.

Having experienced success in England and Spain, the former Manchester United striker is warming to the prospect of closing his career in Italy and helping revive Milan next term.

If he was to move to Serie A, Van Nistelrooy would give himself the chance to become the first player in history to finish top scorer in four nations - Holland, England, Spain and Italy.

yeah we are having a hard time without him. this is why we need to sign a new striker that we can count on (unlike saviola and soldado). We need someone like Amauri, berbatov, or huntleaar

I think Realmadrid will bring these 3 players, but not this summer, Kun Aguero is sticked to Atletico at the moment, and Benzema said that he will stay another year in france, Hyntelaat is most propably the next signing.
there were some talks about luis fabiano recently, but i think he is old and realmadrid wont think much about him, personally i would like to see him in the bernabue.
Now saviola said he will stay in Madrid, this guy is awesome but didnt get his chance, he played some games this season and scored

Hala Madrid!

Lance Knight

nah luis isnt leaving anymore, he staying at sevilla, i kinda glad cause who knows he could have sucked at real, and its not like hes young and there is time for him to adapt.

to aguero is the kind to sell out, i really dont think that he really gives a shit about the madrid rivalry.

and no one cares, this thing is over now, i really want like 6 or 7 players to come to real from atletico
aguero, forlan, reyes, simao and many others

Raul_Madrid
04-12-2008, 11:20 PM
I'm sure reyes will leave atletico, coach doesn't really use him. Forlan and Simao are 2 of atleticos most important players so it will be hard for them to leave, even more difficult if atletico play CL next season. Aguero i dont know i really dont like that guy..... i dont know what you guys see in him

Van Nistelrooy pressing Real Madrid to sign Huntelaar
April 18, 2008

Ruud van Nistelrooy is urging Real Madrid to go for Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

Italian agent Alberto Faccini, who is close to Huntelaar's representative Arnold Oosterveer, revealed: "There are teams in Spain and England that want to sign him. Among these is Real Madrid, which is following the lad very closely.

"There are also words of praise from Van Nistelrooy, who is pushing his name hard to Madrid."

Indeed, Van Nistelrooy said of Huntelaar this week: "Huntelaar is a great forward. He is a great finisher. I would sign him. Here, he would score plenty of goals. I'm sure he would succeed in Madrid."

Real Madrid tell AC Milan: £100M for Van Nistelrooy
April 19, 2008

Real Madrid have warned AC Milan off star striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Reacting to reports that Milan had offered £4 million for the Dutchman, a senior Real director told Marca: "Van Nistelrooy is not for sale and whoever wants sign him will have to pay his buyout clause (£100 million).

"Why are we going to release him if we've just renewed his contract? I'm sure that next season he will again be one of the best goleadores. We rely on him and he is very important for us."
