OCEANSIDE – Two plainclothes officers made one of the easiest arrests of their careers Monday night when a prostitute trying to avoid police got into the back seat of their unmarked car.
The officers were on an undercover gang detail about 11 p.m. when a woman flagged them down, exposed a breast and told them she was a prostitute, police said.
The officers, who were busy with the detail, said they would come back.
They found her a short time later at South Coast Highway and Minnesota Avenue, where she waved them down.
She quickly opened the back door, pushed aside a police ballistic vest on the seat and got in, saying she had to get off the street because there were so many police officers in the area.
She again offered her services to the officers, who then turned around and informed her that she was under arrest.
