Termino el juego en un empate sin goles que fue dominado por el Santos Laguna. Aunque jugo bien el Santos, todavia no encuentra la victoria. Los Potosinos se fueron a casa contentos con el empate.

En el duelo que inauguró la Jornada 10 del Torneo Apertura 2006, los Tuzos del Pachuca doblegaron por 3-0 al local San Luis con goles de Leobardo López (30’), Fernando “Pollo” Salazar (53’) y Juan Carlos Cacho (71’), todos de cabeza.

El colombiano Jairo Patiño, volante por derecha, fue presentado este viernes por San Luis como su último refuerzo para el Apertura 2008.

En su presentación, el sudamericano aseguró que viene a dejar todo por los potosinos, con quienes está agradecido por darle la oportunidad de venir al futbol mexicano.

"La verdad me siento muy contento, le doy gracias a Dios por la oportunidad de estar aquí, vengo a aportar a sumarme al grupo, se lo manifesté al grupo y al Cuerpo Técnico, agradecido con el interés que tuvieron para poderme tener acá en el equipo, quiero aprovechar el liderazgo, la experiencia que he tenido en estos años para colocarlo en el beneficio del equipo", mencionó.

El hecho de que un compatriota suyo, Tressor Moreno, juegue para el mismo equipo, facilitará la adaptación a este balompié, así como al plantel de Los Gladiadiores, añadió Patiño.

"Tengo que venir a colocar cosas positivas para que el equipo también ande como todos queremos; se hace mucho mas fácil la adaptación al grupo, a la convivencia el hecho de tener un compatriota ya conoce a los compañeros es algo positivo, esperar, Dios quiera, entrar rápido en el grupo", comentó.

Patiño dijo conocer un poco del futbol mexicano, ya que en la Copa Santander Libertadores le ha tocado enfrentar a varios equipos de este país, donde consideró que ha crecido mucho el balompié.

"En Copa Santander Libertadores hemos tenido oportunidad de jugar contra equipos mexicanos; es un futbol vistoso, que en los últimos años ha dado emociones a su país, y hoy por hoy lo vemos en torneos internacionales, en la Selección, es un juego que ha crecido y por ende, muchos equipos quieren jugar aquí", dijo.

Finalmente y como dato curioso, Patiño mencionó que nació en Cali, Colombia y toda su niñez y adolescencia la vivió en un barrio llamado San Luis, por lo que es algo significativo para él llegar a la capital potosina.

"Yo nací en Cali, y se puede llamar casualidad, aunque yo creo que no lo es, pero toda mi infancia y adolescencia la viví en un barrio llamado San Luis, entonces también es algo anecdótico llegar a este club", concluyó.

Patiño portará el número 7, nació en Cali, Colombia en 1978, debutó en Deportivo Cali y ha jugado en equipos como Deportivo Pasto, Newell's, Atlético Nacional, Banfield y ahora San Luis.

A pesar del mal paso de Jaguares en el Torneo Apertura 2008 del futbol mexicano, donde ha perdido sus dos partidos, en Gladiadores de San Luis no se confían, pues afirman que no querrá tener una nueva caída y eso lo hará un rival peligroso.

"Tenemos que salir con la mentalidad de ganar, pero sabiendo que no será fácil, (pues) Jaguares viene de dos partidos malos (y) seguramente no va a querer tropezar otra vez", comentó el defensa Adrián García Arias.

El zaguero indicó que "el equipo tiene que salir más decidido, con mayor intensidad que los otros partidos" para hacer valer su condición de local mañana en el estadio Alfonso Lastras, "porque Jaguares no regalará nada".

Luego del triunfo como visitante el fin de semana 3-2 ante Pachuca, y la victoria del miércoles en casa 2-1 ante Cruz Azul, en partido adelantado de la fecha seis, el defensa potosino afirmó que desean ganar en esta fecha tres para dar un paso más en busca de mejorar lo hecho el torneo pasado, donde se quedaron en Semifinales.

"Nosotros (tenemos) la posibilidad de cerrar una buena semana que nos dejaría, no tranquilos, pero con muchas posibilidades de mejorar, de saber que puede ser un torneo nuevamente importante, mejorarlo".

Por su parte, el delantero uruguayo Víctor Piriz coincidió con Arias en que será un duro encuentro, pero si salen concentrados y atentos pueden dejar las tres unidades en casa.

"Hay que pensar que se puede ganar y estar con la misma actitud, estar concentrados. Sabemos que este equipo es peligroso, ya ha venido acá a ganarnos el torneo anterior, tenemos que estar sumamente concentrados y tratar que nos salgan las cosas como hasta hoy".

Finalmente, el atacante "charrúa" señaló que los chiapanecos van a "jugar al contragolpe", por lo que deben "pararse bien atrás", pues "la vez pasada, las situaciones que tuvieron las mandaron a guardar".

Debido a ello, explicó, San Luis debe "pensar que no hay que regalar nada, sino sacar los tres puntos para seguir bien en la tabla general y el grupo".

Las ausencias de Michael Orozco, quien se encuentra con la Selección de Estados Unidos y la expulsión de Diego Cervantes, abren las puertas para que Omar Monjaraz sume sus primeros minutos en el Toreno de Apertura 2008, o en su caso tener participación en la Copa Sudamericana ante el Deportivo Quito este próximo miércoles.

Al zaguero de los Gladiadores le preocupa enfrentar al América dadas las circunstancias en las que se encuentra el plantel azulcrema, "la verdad no deja de ser peligroso, el América es un equipo que tiene mucha jerarquía y tradición, viene de batallar, de que las cosas no le salen bien y eso lo hace más peligroso, van a venir a tratar de hacer un buen partido y de llevarse los tres puntos".

Para Monjaraz, la clave para no sufrir la segunda derrota en el torneo está en que "nosotros no debemos de perder la concentración, de jugar en orden y tratar de concretar las jugadas que tenga el equipo".

La ultima ocasión en que el playera "2" de los potosinos estuvo en la cancha fue el 21 de mayo contra Cruz Azul en el juego de ida de las Semifinales del Clausura 2008, en donde salió de cambio al minuto 74.
