I believe that by the end of his career he will be known as the greatest Scottish footballer of all time. agree, disagree? For his career at Rangers and with the Scottish National team, he scored 28 goals in 28 games, that stat speaks for itself.

Dunno if he'll be greatest scottish player of all time. Baxter, Bremner, Law, Dalglish, Souness, Johnstone, all of these guys were world class. Boyd could quite easily be the greatest player of a generation but you're stretching it a wee bit to say he'll be greatest ever.
Incidentally, nice to see that the scottish forums still going strong. I've been away for almost a year and I can still see threads that I posted on!!

Maybe so... but he has tremendous upside, he is a natural goalscorer... and you can not teach that.
The Irish & Scottish forum is pretty weak. I 'm usually the only person who ever posts on here, with the occasional person posting every two weeks or so.

Ach well. This is where we can discuss our tactics for becoming world champs without anyone else knowing.......
Or, at least, rip some huddy for sclaffing a shot 2 yards out, wide of an open goal during Scotlands latest shambolic humping of some former soviet bloc country that consists of a first eleven of fishmongers, bakers and posties......

 , What do you think the chances are of Scotland making the Euro..... realistically? I think they have a tremendous offense but I am not too sure about their defense.... too old & inconsistent.

Strangely enough, I think our forwards are the bit that's letting us down. Elvis and Webster are solid together and Dailly is good in the Libero role. It's players like Kenny Miller who, while decent for Scotland, are never going to trouble a World Class back line.
Although the arrival of Boyd on the international scene interests me.

I think the opposite, we put up 6 on a world class defense in Faroe Islands................. OK i did not believe that last comment either  ...... However I think Boyd & McFadden along with the leadership of the former World Player of the Year Kenny Miller is enough to get us in.

Uh, World Player of the Year? Did I miss something?
Or are we talking about World Player of the Year for dominoes?
Miller runs his arse off and, God, how he tries. But put me in a Scotland shirt and I'd do the same...

Ah!! Makes a bit more sense now. Although, to be fair, sarcasm can be a little hard to get in the written word form.

BTW...... Have you always been a Hearts fan or did you just jump on the bandwagon. I have to say I just jumped on the bandwagon because I want to see the SPL get more interesting & stop being a 2 team league. You never know with Gretna coming on strong the SPL could be a 4 team league in another couple of years.

I've been a Hearts fan through thick and thin mate, for the last 25 years (I'm 28 but the first few years of your life, your more interested in Action Man and controlling your bowels). Had a season ticket the year we had to win the last game of the season to avoid the relagation play offs and a season ticket when we won the cup in 96.
I've seen the good (Robbo, Hartley, Niemi and Cameron), the bad (Hans Eskillson, Darren Beckford, Leigh Jenkinson & Mohammed Berthe) and the ugly (Stevie Fulton & Jim Hamilton:D ).
I know there's a lot about Hearts fans "jumping on the bandwagon", but let's face it, football is entertainment and when it costs you £50 to see a game (when you include the pre and post match pints, programme, pies etc) it's a costly execrcise. So if the choice is spending £50 on watching Hearts scrape a draw against Partick Thistle at Tynie or keeping it in the back burner, I can understand why some chose not to go.
Now that we're playing well, it's also understandable why more are going to the games. They're getting value for their money now.
Remember, in the 80's when Rangers were pesh in the pre Souness and Murray era, they were getting crowds of 5,000 at home to Morton. Now they're getting 50,000 every week. Where were all these fans then?
I think the SPL will always be dominated by the Gruesome Twosome but since money has dried up for everyone, it's becomming a more level playing field. But regardless of whatever happens, the Forces Of Darkness will ALWAYS be there or thereabouts when silverware is handed out.
