obrador is there for the people but what he is doidng makes no sense.
he is trying to give money and programs to help out the poor people by charging the rich people more taxes and therefore they are not as rich anymore but what should happen in mexico is actually give opportunities to the rich people to creat businesses and therefore creating jobs for the poor people.

Lopez Obrador, it's mexico's so there is always fraud. Plus Lopez actually cares about the indegonous people's rigths unlike most of the Mexican government.

I am in Mexico, I am living the post election trouble...believe me...Lopez Obrador is insane...... his way is the same than Chavez in Venezuela or even worse like Fidel in Cuba... populism has no place in today`s Mexico...
He wants a new Constitution, one that favor him...not the people of Mexico
anyone that symphatize with Lopez has no clue what this guy is capable to do in order to get power.. Calderon is going to keep the nation in the same track that the last 3 goberns.. even Madrazo could be better.. but thanks God he did not win either.....

Felipe Calderon!!!!!!!!

Actually , all the candidates were just a bunch of "cabrones". We know that. So basically it was a matter of chossing the one that is not as worst as the others.

In that case, it was good that Felipe Calderon won the elections. There was no fraud. Obrador just enjoys the role of victim and he is trying to get something he did not win.

Basically the ideologies of Mexico are divided now between south and north. The south voted for Obrador where there are more indegenous people and more poverty and less development. The north voted for Calderon.

Tha bad thing about a lot of the people that voted for Obrador is that they think he was going to help them. These people barely have some education and thus they can tricked easily.

With the ideas that Obrador had, he was going to sink Mexico in a matter of a few years. Something must be done in order to distribute better the money in mexico and to give people opportunities but doing things just using brute force does not help much.

well lets hope calderon makes wise decisions and helps mexico move forward... remember you cant fix 80 years ( or how many ever years that the PRI was in power) of currption in only a couple years. Its gonna take time and i think fox did a decent job at trying to turn things around, hopefully calderon will do better.

Mexico's Congress Legalizes Drugs for Personal Use
Friday, April 28, 2006

Fast Facts: What Would Be Legal in Mexico?
MEXICO CITY — Mexico's Congress approved a bill Friday decriminalizing possession of small amounts of marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine and heroin for personal use — a measure sure to raise questions in Washington about Mexico's commitment to the war on drugs.

The only remaining step was the signature of President Vicente Fox, whose office indicated he would sign it.

Supporters said the law would let police focus on drug smuggling, rather than on busting casual users. The bill also would stiffen many drug-related penalties: for trafficking, for possession near schools, and for possession of even small quantities by government employees.

Criminal penalties for drug sales would remain on the books.

"We can't close our eyes to this reality," said Sen. Jorge Zermeno, of Fox's conservative National Action Party. "We cannot continue to fill our jails with people who have addictions."

The administration of U.S. President George W. Bush scrambled to come up with a response.

"We're still studying the legislation, but any effort to decriminalize illegal drugs would not be helpful," a U.S. diplomat said on condition of anonymity.

I think the US stoped this bill, or a least pushed the mexican government to do so, I guest their afraid of people in southern states making drug trips down to Mexico. They should've gone through with it though, it would increase tourism like it does for Amsterdam, plus all drugs should be legal everywhere anyway.

thats bullshit, why doesnt he just give up. I mean he wasnt elected and there really isnt any evidence of fraud... it seems that he just wants to take over by force. How can he not get into his head that the majority of mexico doesnt want him as president. Honestly i dont really like Calderon all that much, but i think that mexico would be worse of with a president like Obrador, I dont think mexico is ready for a socialist type of government.

i think that legalizing small ammounts of drugs make sense.
i mean why chase poeple that have 1 gram of drugs when you can be focusing all your strengths in cathing someone with 1 ton of drugs.

Legalizing drugs in Mexico is ok because it seems to be under control over their but in the US I'm not sure. Just imagine crack heads in every corner, that would make our country look bad!
