Real Madrid coach Capello: Milan clubs can forget Ronaldo
August 18, 2006
Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello has issued a 'hands off' warning to Inter and AC Milan over striker Ronaldo.
"Ronaldo will not move to Milan and will not go to Inter either, just to make things clear," he declared.
"I only like to talk about players who I have on my team and I don't like discussing sales or new signings before they are finalised.
"However, in this case, I can confirm that Ronaldo is going absolutely nowhere," concluded the former Italian international.

AC Milan, Inter press Ronaldo for Italy return
August 20, 2006
AC Milan and Inter continue to press for Real Madrid star striker Ronaldo.
In recent days both clubs have been in contact with Real about the availability of the Brazil international - with similar offers. Indeed, Milan have told Real they will beat any offer from Inter for Ronaldo, just as Inter have said regarding Milan's rival interest!
For his part, Ronaldo insists he does not want to leave Real. He was contacted FIVE times by Milan directors last week, including Ariedo Braida and Adriano Galliani, but was adamant that he wants to stay in Spain this season.

Both the coach & Ronaldo himself said he doesn't want to go....
So i voted he shouldn't go. Inter & AC Milan should stop pressing Real about it.
I wonder tho how much they are willing to pay for Ronaldo.

Berlusconi has AC Milan deal in-place for Ronaldo
August 21, 2006
AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi will push for a deal with Real Madrid over Ronaldo on Wednesday morning.
Berlusconi is confident Milan will dispatch Red Star Belgrade in their Champions League qualifier tomorrow night and once the mission is complete, will press Real to sell Ronaldo.
A deal is already reportedly in-place, with Milan paying ?10 million for the former World Player of the Year, who has agreed terms on a three-year contract worth a massive ?18 million.
Berlusconi is determined to land a big-name to replace Andriy Shevchenko and will push through a deal for Ronaldo, despite the reservations of close friend Arrigo Sacchi.
Sacchi worked with Ronaldo while general manager at Real and Il Giornale says he told Berlusconi: "Doctor, I refer you to the opinion of (former Real vice-president) Emilio Butragueno, who said, 'Capello must have friends in Milan if he's about to solve this big problem'."

Real Madrid want Kaka option for Ronaldo's AC Milan move
August 22, 2006
Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is ready to ask for first refusal on Kaka ahead of AC Milan making a firm bid for Ronaldo.
Calderon expects Milan to make concrete their interest in Ronaldo should they defeat Red Star Belgrade in tonight's Champions League qualifier.
Ideally, Calderon would want Kaka as part of a cash-plus-player swap involving Ronaldo, but Milan won't consider such a possibility. Instead, the Real supremo will seek first option on the Brazil international midfielder when Milan come knocking in the next 24 hours.
Milan's city rivals Inter have also made a formal enquiry and another swap is on the cards involving striker Adriano. Inter patron Massimo Moratti has splashed out big on Hernan Crespo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, but will enter the race for Ronaldo rather than risk seeing him play for rivals Milan this season.
It's emerged that Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has told Ronaldo he can expect a bigger contract than his Real deal should he agree to the move
Kaka: AC Milan fans will love Ronaldo
August 22, 2006
AC Milan midfield ace Kaka is keen to see Real Madrid striker Ronaldo join him at the San Siro.
Brazil international Ronaldo is a £10 million target for Milan president Silvio Berlusconi and Kaka backs the bid.
He said: "If he can find the right motivation, he is still one of greatest in the world. To change clubs would do him good and his Interista past would not be a problem.
"Ronie played for Barcelona and then went Real, therefore, where's the problem?
"I believe that all the tifosi expect a great name after the big players that have left.
"We've lost Sheva, Stam, Rui: Ronaldo can give joy to our tifosi."

AC Milan directors in Madrid for Ronaldo deal
August 23, 2006
AC Milan powerbrokers Adriano Galliani and Ariedo Braida will be guests of Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon tonight for the Bernabeu Trophy clash with Anderlecht.
The Milan directors intend to open formal negotiations with Calderon for Brazil international striker Ronaldo, though it's emerged talks will be anything but smooth for the Italian giants.
Calderon will firstly demand an option on Kaka during talks and also won't consider selling Ronaldo for less than £23 million.
Calderon quipped yesterday: "It wouldn't be such a bad deal to swap Ronaldo for Kaka."
Real Madrid coach Capello: Kaka remains high priority
August 23, 2006
Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello admits the signing of AC Milan midfield ace Kaka will remain a "high priority".
Asked about his interest in the Brazilian, Capello said: "He is one of the few players who can make the difference in games.
"And for me, these players always are high-priority. But Milan does not want to sell him and it is impossible to sign him.
"Things are sometimes complicated and it is important to remember this."
AC Milan reach personal terms with Real Madrid's Ronaldo
August 24, 2006
AC Milan have already struck personal terms with Real Madrid striker Ronaldo.
The Brazilian is expected to return to Milan this week after the Serie A giants made an opening round offer of £11.5 million. Real president Ramon Calderon is seeking £13 million.
Meanwhile, Milan director Ariedo Braida has secured Ronaldo's commitment over a three-year contract worth £5 million-a-season.
An agreement was also struck yesterday over Ronaldo's image rights. Milan are keen to rebuild their brand across Asia and also tap into the Indian market using the Brazilian's high-profile and Braida has negotiated a split, 50-50, over image rights with the striker.
i would like for him to stay in Madrid but if he decides to leave, madrid has more than enough strikers to replace him

Real Madrid reject AC Milan "cash" for Ronaldo
August 24, 2006
Real Madrid are proving tough negotiators for AC Milan over striker Ronaldo.
Milan directors Ariedo Braida and Adriano Galliani were guests of Real president Ramon Calderon at last night's Bernabeu Trophy clash with Anderlecht.
Real sports director Predrag Mijatovic met with the pair and informed them there were two options to sign Ronaldo: a deal involving Kaka or £20 million cash.
Milan won't consider allowing Kaka to move to Real, while Calderon fired a blunt warning last night: "We do not need money, Milan already knows this.
"From now on they will have to speak about another thing if they want to take Ronaldo."
He continued: "Real Madrid does not want to sell Ronaldo. In principle he is not for sale, but we must listen to what the player wants to do. It is certain that he has a very attractive offer and now we must decide."
AC Milan move still on for Real Madrid's Ronaldo
August 25, 2006
Inter Milan patron Massimo Moratti will have final say on whether Real Madrid striker Ronaldo will move to city rivals AC Milan.
It's emerged that when he sold Ronaldo to Real, Moratti negotiated a clause in the deal that allowed him first refusal on the Brazilian. If another club ever came in for Ronaldo, Inter would be able to sign him if they matched the offer tabled.
While Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani declared the deal dead last night, Brazil's Globo says this morning that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs.
Ronaldo will sign a five-year contract with the Rossoneri and the new development is reportedly to be confirmed later today.

Hiya to all!
I personally think that perhaps he should go, that is, if he wants enough field time. Real has brought in some new players and with Ruud being a striker, Well, his position is conspicuous.
I like him at Real. I like the team and all, but i've loved Ronaldo since I was 6-7 years old. I'll follow him like a puppy wherever he is at. I mean, I do prefer Barcelona over Real. I think that team is on fire as well as Ronaldinho.I think it'll be easier to root for them now :).
But of course, if he stays, he knows and sees the pic better than me.
Whatever choice he makes, I'll support.
So i'm more loyal to the players than the teams;
Sue me! (really, i'm joking)

Raul: Ronaldo not bigger than Real Madrid
August 25, 2006
Raul insists he doesn't want to see Ronaldo leave Real Madrid.
The pair fell out last season and traded barbs in the press, but Raul, reacting to AC Milan's bid for his teammate, insisted: "Real Madrid is bigger than any one person or player.
"Ronaldo is a fantastic player and at the moment is a member of the Real Madrid squad. I hope that he continues with us.
"I won't be happy if he leaves. I want what is best for Ronaldo, whether he stays or leaves. I do not have any problems with him."
AC Milan chief told Ronaldo: Too late to try again
August 27, 2006
Real Madrid urged AC Milan to make a new offer for Ronaldo yesterday, it has been revealed.
After rejecting their £10 million bid last week, Real invited Milan to try again with an improved offer, but transfers chief Ariedo Braida ruled out trying again, says Il Giornale.
Ronaldo sought answers from Real sports chief Predrag Mijatovic as why the deal fell over and was reportedly told that given the sale of Andriy Shevchenko, they expected a bigger offer in the region of £17 million from Milan.
The Brazilian, through intermediaries, informed Braida of Real's motives, but he replied to Ronaldo: "I'm sorry, but it's much too late to do anything.
"We won't go higher than what we have offered."
