Mourinho criticizes that Madrid is head of series in Champions
Marca
Aug 18th

The trainer of the English Chelsea, the Portuguese Jose Mourinho, said not to understand the reason for which Real Madrid and Valencia will be heads of series in the present edition of Liga de Campeones, in an interview published in “the Public” newspaper. “Real Madrid I do not know… (if it only deserved to be series head) if it is for being the best equipment of century XX, but he is not with certainty the best one of last the four or five years, because it did not gain anything - in that period”, it affirmed the technician.

Mourinho denounced that the UEFA is based to choose the heads of series of that competition in criteria that favor to equipment with “estatus”. “I do not know how it is that the Valencia is in front of the Chelsea, or how Arsenal and Manchester United are series heads”, it affirmed, to clarify that that simply happens “because it is decided by protective coefficients of the clubs with file and estatus”. The technician thought that “in soccer there is no money that buys estatus” and that the Chelsea is an equipment “with a recent history”.

I don't know, I think there is something of truth in his words....

yup before the past 3 seasons chelsea was a lower table club, they have no history or Prestige. they havent earnt it yet, even with chelsea thier billions of dollars it would still take time for they to create that. All of those teams were dominate over vast periods of times, and have numerous more titles and trophies than them. i think real have a serious title shot this season and the team's transferance phase is complete, each team goes throught that at some point, barca didnt win anything for 6 years before, also look ManU is in that phase right now also, new players enters the stage; they get old; then they retire; its a cycle and each club goes through it, noone can keep winning all the time, look even in the SPL Celtic and Rangers keep battling it out

I hate mourinho with an undying passion, nothing is ever his fault and he always complains. He caused a good referee to retire with the Frisk situation, and it was Messi's fault that Chelsea was eliminated this year from UCL according to him.

well messi was part of the fault, though there was nothing messi could do about it except maybe play worse

Im a Chelsea fan & a Madrid fan too, but I think Jose Mourinho is one character I cant stand. Its so clear that 2 years of winning the premiership arent anything compared to Madrid's history. Let him concetrate on making Chelsea more entertaining and forget about the seeding of the UCL.

I'm interested in hearing what his excuse is for losing to Middlesborough.

hes definately good, though i fear he is a bit to focused on getting the best players or outbuying united and arsenal than getting a team that works well together, or at least during this transfer period

I mean they are throwing the money and saying hey look do what you think is good to make us winners. I would be buying the good stuff myself if the owners are tossing out the dough.

You have to remember you still need to be a real damn good coach to have the success Mourinho has had. Take for instance Real Madrid I mean look at that team for crying out loud over the past 5 years superstar after superstar they bought and they have failed to achieve the potential that was expected (rightfully so ) of them. I mean on paper if most kept intact it would read like this, Real Madrid wins the spanish league and Champions league for the next 7 years straight, and everything else in sight.
