Roma's Spalletti: Real Madrid too late for Chivu
August 17, 2006

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has played down talk of a new bid from Real Madrid for defender Cristian Chivu.

"No one has made an offer for Chivu and that is also true for Mexes, Amantino Mancini and Daniele De Rossi," he said.

"What would I do if we were to receive an offer now for one of these players? I would certainly consider it, but it honestly seems a bit late for this kind of operation.

"When you give up on such important players you need an immediate replacement of the same level and that is not something you can do in a hurry.

"After all, the summer transfer window closes in 10 days time."
10 days is enough time, ramos was signed in 2

Pizarro agent reveals Roma move almost done
August 17, 2006

The agent of Inter Milan midfielder David Pizarro says a move to Roma is on for the Chilean.

Fernando Hidalgo is returning to Italy and will meet Nerazzurri officials Marco Branca and Gabriele Oriali, as well as Roma sporting director Daniele Prade, on Thursday to discuss the final details.

"Branca and Oriali called, the negotiation is underway and I think we will agree on a co-ownership," said Hidalgo to network Radio Radio.

"There will be no other players involved in the deal. Inter wanted Amantino Mancini, but Roma consider him untransferable," added Pizarro's agent, denying the possibility of a swap deal.

"Pizarro was glad to stay at Inter, but is also keen on moving to Rome. We will discuss everything on Thursday and I think we will be able to close the deal," concluded Hidalgo.

Cagliari president: Roma can take Esposito
August 22, 2006

Cagliari president Massimo Cellino has confirmed he's ready to sell winger Mauro Esposito to Roma.

"He is a very good player and Roma now need someone like him," said Cellino to the Radio Radio network.

"We owe a lot to Esposito and that is why I have asked sporting director Oreste Cinquini to see what can be done.

"I don't like to sell good players and I don't even know if Roma have enough money - after all they invested on David Pizarro?"

Esposito has been courted by Palermo and Fiorentina recently, but Cellino would consider a transfer to the Giallorossi a kind of gift to the player.

"We are not interested in the operation only for the money, it's more an acknowledgment to Esposito's hard work for this team," added Cellino.

"I think there are margins for the deal with Roma to be closed, but if that were not the case we will keep Esposito in Cagliari. I'm not in desperate need of money."

Roma in for Lille pair Odemwingie, Fauvergue
August 22, 2006

Roma are interested in Lille pair Peter Odemwingie and Nicolas Fauvergue.
Nigerian Odemwingie, who has also attracted interest from Lazio, is a close friend of Inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins and enjoyed a superb season last term in France.

Teammate Fauvergue, 22, has similar characteristics to Odemwingie and is also being monitored by Roma in the opening weeks of the French season.

Roma signed Pizarro in a Co Ownership deal with Inter Milan for 4 million Dollars.
this will be a good factor in Roma's Formation next season,Spalletti will use the last season successfull formation 4-5-1 but this season with better options and less Injuries but how will he use it ??
will he use Totti in the middle or as the only striker.

Theres the enigma...............Nonda..
Mido is here at the moment, but is leaving today for tottenham.
Montella is 90% cured and 70% fit...
okaka, still young though....
and totti, who spalletti uses as a striker...

Vucinic is inches away from roma according to the press..
speculation grows pairin roma with teves...
and with the money we get from selling mido and kuffour, we might bring in semioli or esposito...

thanx man for the report and if we can see Tevez or a class striker in Roma that will be great but indeed they dont need another Winger,Taddei and Mancini are just great so they must put their money on a striker at the moment
