Yeah, Cruzeiro's in great shape. They're one of the few Brzilian clubs who understand that the only way for a Brazilian club to survive is to regularly sell players, so they work with that in mind, always investing in promising "marketable" players, then sellin' 'em, at least one per year. That way, they keep their finances in order, and somehow keep afloat.
They're also benefitting from the experience of their coach - Luis Felipe Scolari, one of Brazil's best. Scolari is a hard pill for the press to swallow, as he's a loudmouth with no problems with the concept of "Do ANYTHING to win". The Brazilian media have always been infatuated with a "good-boy" style of coaching, where coaches swear to God that their teams aren't violent - when they frequently are - and that fine showmanship is as good as gettin' the trophies - which is an arguable point at best, and baloney at worst. Scolari is competent, knows how to build a strong team, gets to all the finals, and couldn't care less what the media says about him. I just wish he'd work for MY club... :rolleyes:
