El PSV Eindhoven, con el defensa mexicano Carlos Salcido los 90 minutos, mantuvo hoy su supremacía como local en la Liga de Primera División de Holanda, al golear 3-0 a Groningen, en cotejo válido por la fecha 30.

Un doblete del delantero Danny Koevermans a los minutos 33 y 84 y una anotación más del atacante Otman Bakkal (47) le dieron el triunfo al conjunto rojiblanco en el Philipsstadion.

De esta manera, los "Granjeros" se mantienen en la cima de la clasificación general con 64 unidades, mientras que sus adversarios se quedaron con 50 unidades, en el sexto peldaño.

Además, los pupilos de Sef Vergoossen llegaron a 11 triunfos como locales en la Temporada 2007-08 del balompié holandés, por sólo tres empates y un sólo revés.

Asimismo, el PSV amplió a siete puntos su distancia sobre su más cercano perseguidor, Ajax de Ámsterdam (57), que mañana visita al Twente Enschede.

El Villarreal impuso hoy su gran calidad al infortunio que persigue al Levante durante la presente Liga, ya que el conjunto local fue superior durante la mayor parte del partido, pero el equipo visitante logró la victoria al materializar prácticamente sus dos únicas llegadas a puerta.

La hinchada local recibió con frialdad el partido, justo al contrario que la visitante, que se desplazó en masa (unos 3.000 seguidores) al estadio Ciudad de Valencia para presenciar en directo la cuarta victoria consecutiva de su equipo en el partido número doscientos de Manuel Pellegrini en el banquillo del conjunto castellonense.

Aunque el Levante jugó con comodidad y de tú a tú al tercer clasificado de la Liga, no pudo doblegarle debido en gran medida a su casi total falta de mordiente en los metros finales, la misma que le ha condenado al último puesto de la clasificación.

El balón merodeó el área de Diego López prácticamente durante los noventa minutos, pero finalmente fue el Villarreal quien se llevó al gato al agua al hacer gala de una gran inteligencia y sobre todo una sobrada calidad ofensiva.

Sus delanteros, especialmente los más rápidos como Nihat y Matías Fernández, tuvieron escasas apariciones pero siempre transmitieron peligro, justo al contrario de lo que sucedió en el Levante, cuyos jugadores disfrutaron de un sinfín de ocasiones pero únicamente fueron capaces de materializar una.

Los primeros instantes del encuentro fueron los de mayor dominio local. En el minuto 11 Pedro León disparo desde unos veinticinco metros y el balón se estrelló en el palo, y sólo unos segundos después volvió a desperdiciar una buena ocasión al pegar mordido un balón dentro del área pequeña.

El buen juego local se cimentó en la gran labor de sus centrocampistas, especialmente Mathieu Berson, que robó balones con facilidad y siempre buscó las mejores opciones de contraataque, aunque también Pedro León anduvo inspirado al ofrecer un completo repertorio de regates, sombreros y disparos lejanos.

El Villarreal dejó al Levante que se confiara en busca de un despiste, un error en la defensa que permitiese el contraataque, y no tardó en suceder. En el minuto 25 Gonzalo remató de cabeza por encima del larguero y prácticamente en la siguiente acción de ataque llegó el gol.

Fue obra de Matías Fernández de disparo lejano, aunque el chileno debe estar agradecido a la defensa local, que le permitió primero controlar la pelota a placer y luego rematar. El disparo fue raso y sin aparente complicación, pero acabó en el fondo de la red.

Tras este tanto el encuentro siguió prácticamente igual, el Levante tuvo paciencia y no se deshizo, pero el Villarreal jugó mucho más cómodo a la espera de que el árbitro indicase el final de la primera mitad.

Tras el paso por los vestuarios el Levante siguió volcado de lleno al ataque, con Juanma y Geijo como directores de orquesta y hombres más peligrosos. De hecho el extremeño llevó prácticamente él sólo un balón tras otro a la portería de Diego López para que sus compañeros ensayasen los remates.

El primero en recoger uno de esos centros fue Pedro León, que disparó a las manos del portero en el minuto 53. Instantes después Riga no llegó por centímetros a otro buen balón de Juanma, pero a la tercera llegó la vencida y Miguel Ángel pudo cabecear a gol en el 65.

Este gol renovó por completo las mermadas fuerzas de los delanteros locales, que se habían exprimido durante todo el encuentro en constantes contraataques sin encontrar el camino del gol.

Incluso pudo adelantarse el Levante en una nueva acción personal de Juanma (minuto 75) que corrió toda la banda derecha y sirvió un buen balón a Riga, pero el ghanés lo desaprovechó.

Pero la fortuna torció de nuevo el gesto al Levante y sonrió al Villarreal, pues en la única llegada a puerta de todo el segundo periodo logró el gol de la victoria. Fueron los jugadores de refresco, Cani y el Guille Franco, quienes lo lograron.

Los vibrantes minutos finales, en los que el equipo de De Biasi (que vio el encuentro desde la grada por sanción) buscó desesperadamente la victoria hicieron que el debut de Arveladze en la Liga pasara prácticamente inadvertido.

He played this week against valencia and he looked out of it. Malito starts over him and him and thuram fight for the 3rd center back spot. But in the games ive seen him play they have been playing him as a CDM and hes makes no plays at all, its like they try not to give him the ball. So i dunno what your talking about him being one of the top defenders on barca, i dont even think hes in the top 5. Carlos Vela has finally been granted permission to play for Arsenal, and will link up with the squad for preseason training this summer.

The Mexican forward was signed in 2005 by Gunners boss Arsène Wenger, but has been unable to commence his Premier League career due to FIFA regulations regarding work permits.

As a result, the 19-year-old has been sent on loan spells with Spanish clubs Salamanca, Celta Vigo and Osasuna, for whom he has impressed.

And with Wenger keen to strengthen his attacking options, Vela has finally received clearance to play in England and only awaits the arrival of his passport before setting off to join the Arsenal squad in July.

"Despite the critics that we have received for making Carlos play at Celta Vigo, Salamanca and Osasuna, these spells have been very important for preparing for life in the Premier League," said Vela's agent Eduardo Hernandez.

"His time in Spain has now come to a close and he is just waiting for his passport.

"He has worked the amount of time required by the Premier League and everything is going fine.

"He has been granted permission to play and will be joining Arsenal in July for the beginning of preseason training.

"Many people have criticized us for the way this process has been handled but the laws of FIFA and the rules of competition in some countries have meant that we have experienced some problems.

"But they are over now and a new chapter in his career can begin."

well seems like bravo is going to deportivo with guardado.i dont see anyone else from the mexican league going to europe.one thing that seems pretty likely and i hope happens is dos santos going to chelsea.

theres rumors that Correa might be going to germany..he has been made transferable by pachuca. theres also rumors that atletico is insterested in magallon, well have to wait and see what the directiva of chivas decides, they say that reynoso could also leave to brasil.
