Castillo reassures Olympiakos stay

In an interview with Greek sports news paper "Protathlitis" Olympiakos striker Nery Alberto Castillo has expressed his interest to stay with the club. The 23 year old striker gave details for his upcoming meeting with the PAE Olympiakos management scheduled for Saturday, July 28, 2007.

Nery what are you going to do? Are you staying or leaving from Olympiakos?

"Olympiakos have told me that they want me to stay. I am awaiting for our upcoming meeting to discuss what would be the best solution for me and the team."

Olympiakos have confirmed that they want you to stay and that they are building the team around you.

"I want to stay with the club as well. I am awaiting for them to show me that they want me to stay as well. I know and they know that there are offers for my transfer. However, I have not talked to anyone yet neither will I in the future. I will talk to Olympiakos first and if they tell me I can start looking for a new club then I will start talking to them."

Olympiakos have stated that they are not willing to put you up for sale.

"OK then. I am awaiting for them to show me that they want me to stay with the club and I will then continue with the club."

Is it purely a financial decision?

"It is not the financial aspect alone. We must see what will happen in the future and if a new offer will come in. We must take care of a few things first."

What would make you happy?

"I want to come to terms with Olympiakos so I can stay with the club. I hope everything goes well and I stay with the club. If we come to a solution that everyone is happy with then I am will be happy myself."

Are the Shakhtar and Manchester City offers a motive for you?

"Like I told you already, I know of these offers as does Olympiakos. I have not talked to anyone as I want to talk to my team first."

Does it not mean anything to you that you had a private conversation with the Olympiakos president?

"It means a lot to me that I have talked to the president directly. Everyone knows that I respect him, I think of him highly and I appreciate everything he has done for me. I am awaiting for us to talk again and I believe everything will go well. I will be in Athens on July 28th to talk to him."

In order for him to want to talk to you directly that means he wants you to stay with the club.

"I understand and respect that. I believe this is the only reason as to why we did not bring up any wages discussions in our meeting with Petros Kokkalis and Ilija Ivic. It means a lot to me that the president would like me to stay with the club."

Olympiakos have announced that you will be meeting with them on Friday the 27th of July.

"I have not been informed of such thing. I hear this from you for the first time. I take it they will call me and let me know."

If Olympiakos gives you what you want will everything be OK with you?

"This is what I believe. I am not only looking after myself but for the good of the team as well. That is why I am telling you I hope there is a solution that will make both of us happy."

Are you still on vacation?

"Yes I am in Santorini and I am having a great time."

What do the people tell you when they meet you on the street?

"The Olympiakos supporters tell me how much they love me and how much they desire for me to stay with the the club. I love them as well, and I have shown that all these years. What has made an impression on me is that for the past few days supporters from other clubs as well, even from Panathinaikos, are very nice to me. I am very happy about that as that was not the case for all these years."

El defensa mexicano Aarón Galindo se unirá a sus compatriotas Pavel Pardo y Ricardo Osorio para jugar en la Bundesliga con el equipo de Eintracht Frankfurt.

Galindo, quien la temporada anterior militó en Grasshoppers de Suiza, jugará las próximas dos temporadas con el conjunto alemán tras llegar a un acuerdo, mismo que se dio a conocer este día el club.

El zaguero central, de 25 años de edad y que surgió en Cruz Azul de México, será presentado de manera oficial, al público en general y a la prensa, este domingo.

Tras sus buenas actuaciones con Cruz Azul el jugador se ganó su llamado a la Selección de México, aunque viviría uno de los peores episodios de su carrera deportiva tras dar positivo en un control antidoping en la Copa Confederaciones Alemania 2005.

La Federación Internacional de Futbol Asociación (FIFA) decidió suspenderlo un año, castigo que cumplió para regresar a las canchas con el Hércules de Alicante de la Segunda División de España.

Llegó como titular indiscutible, aunque con el cambio de técnico fue relegado a la banca, y su permanencia en el equipo fue de seis meses antes de buscar nuevos horizontes.

Tras su paso por el balompié ibérico, el jugador llegó a Suiza, con el Grasshoppers, donde estuvo medio año, tiempo en el que jugó 15 partidos y consiguió dos goles.

Ahora comienza una nueva aventura para Galindo, quien con el "3" en los dorsales se convertirá en el tercer mexicano en inscribirse en la Bundesliga.

Galindo podría debutar de manera oficial el próximo 11 de Agosto cuando reciban al Hertha Berlín en la fecha uno, y se verá las caras con sus compatriotas Pardo y Osorio el 24 de Noviembre, cuando se dispute la Jornada 14.

Ante la posible salida del futbolista brasileño Juliano Belletti del Barcelona de España, el defensa mexicano Ricardo Osorio suena como una de las opciones para ocupar esa posición en la escuadra blaugrana.

En información que publica el diario local Sport, se menciona
que Osorio, del Stuttgart de la Bundesliga, podría llegar al Barça,
con lo que sería el tercer mexicano en el club, junto a Rafael
Márquez y Giovani Dos Santos.

Aunque la primera opción para el conjunto ibérico sería Angel
López, del Celta de Vigo, que jugará la siguiente campaña en la
Segunda División, Osorio está en la lista de posibles fichajes del ex
campeón de España.

"Barça cuenta con Belletti, pero la secretaría técnica tiene
alternativas por si finalmente llegara una propuesta realmente
interesante para prescindir del lateral brasileño. Los principales
nombres que el club tiene sobre la mesa son los del celtiña Angel y
el del mexicano del Stuttgart, Ricardo Osorio".

Tras manifestar que la llegada de Angel sería la primera alternativa, agrega que la operación por el zaguero surgido en Cruz Azul, quien se ha convertido en uno de los mejores laterales derechos
de la Bundesliga, no será nada fácil.

Luego de su participación en la Copa del Mundo Alemania 2006 con
México, Osorio llamó la atención del Stuttgart, escuadra que pagó 5.4
millones de dólares para llevarlo al balompié alemán junto a su
compatriota Pável Pardo.

De inmediato lograron acoplarse a su nuevo equipo, y tras una
excelente temporada se convirtieron en Campeones de la Bundesliga, y

The Mexican had been interesting Premiership side Manchester City, but he has put pen-to-paper on a four year deal with the Ukrainian champions after Romanian Mircea Lucescu made the move in the wake of the players impressive performance at the Copa America.
Olympiacos sporting director Ilia Ivic confirmed: "With this money we will have big possibilities. The proposal was very big and each player has his price, this is what I always say.
"All players get sold at some point. Olympiacos is not a club like Real Madrid or Manchester United which receive huge amounts of money from television contracts.
"Once again however Olympiacos gave the right to choose to the player. We told him that it was up to him. I wish Castillo success in the future."
Castilla bagged four goals in the Copa America in Venezula, which helped increase his profile and from Olympiacos' point of view his price tag.

El mediocampista mexicano Andrés Guardado vistió por primera vez los colores blanquiazules del Depor ante casi cuatro mil aficionados.

La expectación que Guardado ha creado -se acreditaron un centenar de medios locales e internacionales- motivó a los directivos hacer la presentación en el estadio Riazor con entrada libre a los aficionados, y no en su sede social, como se venía haciendo.

Fue alrededor de las 7 de la noche (hora local, 12 de México), cuando dio comienzo la conferencia en la que el ex del Atlas de México, con camisa y saco sport, hizo aparición oficial en suelo gallego.

Guardado le costó al Deportivo 5.25 millones de euros; sin embargo, ya cuenta con una cláusula de rescisión por nada menos que 25 millones de euros.

“Este es un sueño para mí”, fueron las primeras palabras de un Guardado emocionado que agregó que espera cumplir con las expectativas, pues viene “a trabajar y a crecer, espero que el Depor y yo vayamos creciendo juntos”. Se definió como un futbolista muy aguerrido, con buena velocidad y buen disparo de media distancia: “Estoy totalmente consciente de la responsabilidad que tengo; vengo a entregar todo aquí, sé de los años de gloria del club, del Súper Depor y espero que en un corto o mediano plazo podamos regresar el éxito de un equipo tan importante de España”.

Una de las preguntas que más sonaron en la rueda de prensa fue la de que si su intención, al llegar a España, es llamar la atención de los grandes equipos como el Real Madrid, el Barcelona o la Juventus, a lo que Andrés respondió: “Mi mente esta totalmente con el Deportivo, nada más”.

Comentó, además, que Rafael Márquez, defensa del Barcelona, influyó en su decisión de escoger al Depor, y que le gustaría que le dieran el número 17 por sus inicios con el Atlas, o el 18, dígitos con los que participa en la selección mexicana: “En México hay mucha calidad; se debe confiar más en los jugadores mexicanos, pues venimos a representar a todo un país”, concluyó Andrés.

Guardado tuvo una jornada intensa que cerró en el Riazor, lanzando balones a los seguidores, y yendo al centro del campo con la bandera de México.

En la presentación oficial, al lado de Guardado, se encontraba el presidente del club, Augusto César Lendoiro, quien dijo: “Estoy satisfecho de poder presentar a este gran jugador a los medios de comunicación y al público en general”, ya que “por fin se cerró uno de los traspasos históricos del club”. Además, felicitó a las personas encargadas de la contratación de Andrés, en especial a sus representantes en México y en España, agradeciéndolos por la rapidez en la que se realizaron las negociaciones.

El mexicano Nery Alberto Castillo comienza hoy su contrato de cinco años como nuevo jugador del club ucraniano Shakhtar Donetsk, como un gran refuerzo para esta temporada.

El ex jugador del Olympiakos griego se estrena este miércoles con los "Mineros", equipo en el que será el futbolista mejor pagado del plantel, ya que cobrará 2.7 millones de dólares por año.

Presidido por el multimillonario empresario minero Rinat Akhmetov, el Shakhtar es considerado como "el Chelsea de Ucrania" por su potencial económico y el gran desembolso que está realizando.

El objetivo de Akhmetov es hacer del Shakhtar el club más potente de Ucrania y acabar con el tradicional dominio del Dinamo de Kiev, y Castillo es la piedra angular de este proyecto.

La entidad rojinegra no reparó en gastos para hacerse con una de las figuras de la Copa América 2007, quien era pretendido por equipos de la Liga Premier inglesa.

El Shakhtar pagó 27 millones de dólares por Castillo, de 23 años, el refuerzo "estrella" del combinado que dirige Mircea Lucescu y que jugará la previa de la Liga de Campeones.

El club ucraniano quiere destacar también en Europa y, para ello, además del fichaje de Castillo, se hizo con los servicios del italiano Cristiano Lucarelli, del Livorno.

Al igual que el magnate ruso Roman Abramovich revitalizó al Chelsea con fichajes "mega-costosos", Akhmetov no duda en inyectar dinero al Shakhtar para convertirle en un "grande".

Con una fortuna estimada de 31 mil millones de dólares, Akhmetov, de 41 años, llegó la Presidencia del Shakhtar en 1996 y desde entonces su objetivo es llevarle a lo más alto.

Por su parte, el Shakhtar vendió a inicios de 2007 a su jugador estrella, el centrocampista Anatoli Timoschuk, por 20 millones de dólares al Zenit San Petersburgo ruso.

El delantero mexicano Guillermo Franco, del Villarreal de España, podría ser cedido al Racing de Santander de la Primera División española, publicó el diario deportivo Marca.

Según el rotativo, el club amarillo ha ofrecido al "Guille" en calidad de cedido para la próxima temporada, ya que el mexicano no entraría en los plantes del técnico chileno Manuel Pellegrini.

Por ello, la entidad castellonense, que esta temporada jugará la Copa UEFA, está buscando una cesión del ex seleccionado mexicano a otro equipo, indicó.

El artillero de 30 años sería una de las opciones que interesaría al Racing para cubrir las dos plazas en el ataque que quiere reforzar para la campaña 2007-2008.

Pero la ficha de Franco, más alta de lo que suele pagar el club cántabro, podría truncar la llegada del ex jugador de los Rayados de Monterrey al cuadro del español Marcelino Torral.

Aunque el "Guille" comenzó el curso pasado como suplente en el Submarino Amarillo, acabó la Liga española con una actuación destacada y como titular junto al uruguayo Diego Forlán.

El Villarreal ha reforzado su delantera para la nueva temporada con el italiano Giuseppe Rossi, considerado el sucesor de Forlán (ahora en el Atlético de Madrid) en el conjunto levantino.

El Campeón Stuttgart sumó su segundo encuentro sin victoria en el arranque de la Temporada 2007-2008 de la Bundesliga, al caer como visitante 3-1 ante Hertha Berlín, en donde sólo participó el mediocampista mexicano Pavel Pardo.

Las anotaciones del juego disputado en el Olympiastadion cayeron por cuenta de Thomas Hitzlsperger a los 15 minutos para poner en ventaja a Stuttgart, pero Sofian Chahed de tiro penal (51), Malik Fathi (65) y Solomon Okoronkwo (80), concedieron el triunfo a los de casa.

El mexicano Pardo poco pudo hacer para evitar la derrota de su equipo, salió como titular, cometió una falta dentro del área, que a la postre sería el empate 1-1, en tanto que su compatriota Ricardo Osorio no salió a la banca y continúa sin ver acción en la actual temporada.

El cuadro de visitante se fue adelante en el marcador en los primeros 15 minutos de juego, por conducto de Hitzlsperger, y parecía que Stuttgart sumaría sus primeros tres unidades de la campaña por la superioridad que demostraba dentro del campo.

La ventaja pudo ser mayor a favor de Stuttgart pero la delantera visitante no estuvo atinada en la zona de definición y tuvo que conformarse con irse al descanso con la mínima diferencia, ya con un cuadro del Hertha que presionó al final de la primera mitad.

Continuando con la inercia del primer lapso, los locales se fueron al frente en busca de la igualada, y el brasileño Lucio Cajueiro cayó dentro del área cuando Pardo lo marcaba, por lo que el árbitro Thorsten Kinhofer determinó la pena máxima, que hizo efectiva Chahed.

Tras conseguir el empate, Hertha prosiguió con la presión ofensiva y no pasó mucho tiempo para que se encontrara con el gol de la ventaja en los piés del defensa Fathi (65) y a 10 minutos del final Okoronkwo sentenció la victoria al marcar el 3-1.

Con este resultado, Stuttgart se quedó con un sólo punto para situarse en el puesto 15, mientras que el Hertha es sexto al sumar sus primeros tres puntos de la campaña.

En otro encuentro de la segunda fecha alemana, Bayern Munich demostró por qué es el máximo favorito para conquistar el título, al golear como visitante al Werder Bremen 4-0, aunque el delantero Miroslav Klose no pudo marcarle a sus ex compañeros.

Las anotaciones de la goleada del Bayern fueron obra del francés Frank Ribery por la vía penal (31"), el italiano Luca Toni (51), Hamit Altintop (79) y Andreas Ottl (87)", con lo que se ubicó como líder de la clasificación.

Por su parte, Eintracht Frankfurt, en donde milita el mexicano Aarón Galindo y quien estuvo fuera por lesión, consiguió una igualada 2-2 en su visita al estadio Schuco Arena ante el Arminia Bielefeld, con lo que se encuentra en la cuarta posición.

El mexicano Javier Iturriaga y su equipo, Salamanca, que juega en la Segunda División de España, terminaron invictos la Pretemporada al derrotar por la mínima diferencia a Valladolid con anotación de Daniel García al minuto 17.

Iturriaga, quien llegó esta campaña procedente de Athletic de Bilbao, volvió a dar una buena exhibición ante un Valladolid que se notó sin fuerza a la ofensiva y que pudo haber salido más maltratado de este partido, sólo que los delanteros salmantinos tampoco fueron duchos a la hora de la definición.

De esta manera y con las actuaciones realizadas en los juegos de Pretemporada, el entrenador Ignacio Martínez parece haber encontrado al once titular e Iturriaga se ha ganado un puesto en la media cancha, al tener actuaciones buenas y muy regulares.

Salamanca tuvo una buena actuación ante su público, que salió satisfecho con lo observado en la cancha y que les hace pensar en algo grande para el siguiente torneo que arranca el próximo fin de semana.

El cuadro que utilizó el entrenador Ignacio Martínez y que pinta para ser el once titular en el torneo de la Segunda División de España es con Alberto Cifuentes, Raúl Gañán, David Catalá, Sergio Pelegrín, Tomás Jiménez, Javier Iturriaga, Cristian Bustos, Quique Martín, Zé Tó, Daniel García y David Rodríguez.

......A diving header... and he scores a wonderful header goal.... The Mexican scored a magnificent goal.... De Nigris.... And a very interesting celebration... He put the mask on... The Mexican player De Nigris... The ref calls him over... And a yellow card... He(De Nigris) says he didnt take off his jersey but... he put on an engrossing mask... Antonio de Nigris played 15 times in Mexican NT, played for teams like Villareal, Puebla, and Santos, and now goes by the ref again, and asks him why he got the yellow....

Is there any significance to that mask or something, because I've seen other Mexicans wear a mask like that.

Nery Castillo finally made his official debute at home with Shakhtar Donetsk in the second half against Tavriya Simferopol. He was subed in for his teamate Zvonimir Vukic in the 57th minute of play. He played 33 minutes and didn't score but I'm sure if he recieves more playing time he'll do some great things for his new team.

Real Valladolid y Deportivo empataron un partido en el que el futbol de elite volvía a Zorrilla con un equipo anfitrión aguerrido, sólido e ilusionante durante toda la primera mitad, pero ante un Deportivo que rentabilizó sus ocasiones en la reanudación para llevarse un punto inmerecido (2-2).

El último Campeón de Segunda empezó acometiendo y dominando. El Valladolid parecía no haberse quitado ese "traje" ganador de la pasada campaña e inicialmente todo invitaba al optimismo, al menos en esta fase, en la que los locales demostraron que continúan siendo un equipo "de autor" y que también en primera siguen al pie de la letra el catecismo de su técnico, José Luis Mendilibar.

El Valladolid rebuscó en su espíritu colectivo para plantarse en el campo como un grupo aplicado y solidario ya desde el primer minuto. Esto casi siempre es así, y las fisuras, que también las hubo, se encubrieron con una presión incansable, la gran baza del ascenso.

El Deportivo, por su parte, está en plena tarea de reconstrucción y eso se notó hoy en Zorrilla. Los gallegos parecen estar opositando a sobrevivir en la mitad de la tabla porque muy poco, casi nada, queda de aquel memorable "Súper Depor". Con jugadores muy jóvenes y algunos fuera de sitio, los de Lotina, bajo su habitual 4-2-3-1, sólo trataron de protegerse desde el primer minuto.

Con los medios centros atascados y torpes, el Deportivo apenas tuvo fluidez ni recursos en ataque. Así, los locales pudieron marcar por medio de Joseba Llorente (min. 20) poco antes de que Sesma protagonizara la mejor acción del partido con un Valladolid volcado, agarrado a la viveza de Kome y a la fuerza de Borja Fernández.

No hubo noticias ofensivas del Deportivo durante toda la primera mitad. El monólogo del Real Valladolid en esta fase no produjo mayores daños al rival porque la inspiración goleadora y un gran goleador como Llorente estuvieron hoy más alejados de lo acostumbrado.

Aunque el fútbol muchas veces no sabe de justicia, y hoy parecía uno de esos días, José Antocio García Calvo plasmó en el marcador la superioridad de los suyos en el primer periodo con un remate de cabeza corajudo (en plancha) que certificó esa mejor disposición de los locales. Era el minuto 45, uno de esos instantes psicológicos.

Todo cambió en la reanudación. Y es que ambos equipos siguieron otro guión ya desde la primera jugada. El Deportivo quiso el balón y los de Lotina ofrecieron una cara mucho más audaz. Así, el uruguayo Taborda tardó muy poco en plasmar el nuevo estado del partido en el resultado parcial, ya que en el minuto 53 equilibró la balanza con un gol de cabeza en una indecisión de la zaga local (1-1).

Con el partido muy abierto, Sisi, que no había tenido su mejor tarde, deshizo las tablas, tras un espléndido recorte dentro del área y un gol que elevó la fiesta a las gradas (min. 72). Parecía el inicio de un festival en Zorrilla que interrumpió drásticamente Riki, cinco minutos después, con un disparo afortunado que supuso un nuevo y empate.

El Valladolid acusó el golpe, aunque volvió a empujar y protagonizó un esbozo de reacción. El nigeriano Ogbeche tuvo el 3-2 en el tiempo añadido, pero el marcador ya no se movería.

El Stuttgart, conjunto donde militan los mexicanos Pavel Pardo y Ricardo Osorio, continúa con paso irregular y hoy pedió como local 0-2 ante Hannover en la novena jornada de la Bundesliga, partido celebrado en el Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion.

Las anotaciones del conjunto visitante fueron conseguidas por el mediocampista húngaro Szabolcs Huszti, quien adelantó a los foráneos a los ocho minutos, por la vía penal, y cerró la cuenta a los 52.

Los seleccionados mexicanos vieron actividad a los largo de todo el encuentro, mismo que se complicó desde el inicio para el actual campeón de la Primera División alemana, pues el defensa portugués Fernando Meira se fue expulsado apenas a los siete minutos.

Con el resultado Stuttgart sumó su tercera derrota al hilo, entre el campeonato local y la Liga de Campeones, y ocupa la casilla 12 de la escalada germana con 10 puntos, mientras que Hannover ascendió al sexto peldaño, con 16.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, México, octubre 21, 2007. Nuestro guardameta titular, Guillermo Ochoa, figura en la lista de 50 candidatos al "Balón de Oro" 2007 publicada hoy por la revista francesa "France Football".
El también arquero de la selección nacional es el único mexicano incluido en la prestigiosa lista que, por primera vez, abarca a futbolistas de todo el planeta y que juegan en todos los países.

"France Football" reformó el sistema del galardón, que el año pasado recayó en el zaguero italiano Fabio Cannavaro (Real Madrid), para abrirlo a todas las naciones.

Por ello, además de incrementar los posibles candidatos aumentó también el número de periodistas que forman parte del jurado de este trofeo futbolístico.

La inclusión de Ochoa en la lista de este año refleja la globalización del "Balón de Oro", ya que es uno de los tres únicos jugadores que milita en una Liga no europea.

El iraquí Younis Mahmoud, del Algharafa de Qatar, y el brasileño Rogerio Ceni, del Sao Paulo de Brasil, son los otros representantes de un torneo casero no europeo en la lista.

El defensa central de los Pumas de la UNAM Héctor Moreno, Campeón del Mundo Sub-17 con la Selección Mexicana, Mundialista Sub-20 y uno de los grandes talentos en zona defensiva de México, confirmó en entrevista de radio a Estadio W su contratación al AZ Alkmaar de la Primera División de Holanda, que es dirigido por Louis Van Gaal.

El titular inamovible con Pumas el torneo pasado en el que los universitarios llegaron hasta la Final perdiéndola con Atlante, debutó en el máximo circuito con el equipo de la UNAM el 22 de Enero de 2006, pero fue hasta el Apertura 2007 donde se hizo de la titularidad.

Jugó en los últimos seis meses 22 de los 23 partidos que disputaron los Pumas, todos ellos completos. No sufrió ninguna suspensión, con sólo siete tarjetas amarillas y obviamente, no vio la tarjeta roja. Anotó el torneo pasado un gol, su segundo en el máximo circuito.

"Estoy muy contento, es muy importante para mí, se habla mucho de la barrera del idioma pero el técnico habla perfectamente español y eso me puede ayudar, además de la experiencia, cómo me he fomado, el equipo en que he estado, es algo muy motivante para mí", dijo en entrevista.

El defensor manifestó su alegría por la transferencia y resaltó que el técnico que lo dirigirá será Louis Van Gaal. Centrado, dijo que más allá de llegar en el mejor momento, "se dio, y hay que afrontarlo así, con la madurez que tengo en mi carrera, muchas cosas me han pasado, a veces no me ha dado tiempo ni de festejar cuando se presenta algo nuevo para mí, espero poder triunfar y poner en alto el nombre de México como lo han puesto varios compañeros".

Con esto, Héctor Moreno se convierte en el cuarto defensor mexicano que juega en el extranjero, algo digno de mención por ser una zona en la que no se acostumbraba llamar la atención del extranjero hasta la salida de Rafa Márquez. Se une a Salcido, Márquez, Aarón Galindo.

Moreno reveló que tras la contratación ya se visualiza jugando en el DSB Stadion, casa del AZ Alkmaar, y aunque todavía no lo conoce físicamente ya lo ha visto a través de Internet.

"Siempre pensé en estar en Europa, ahora ya me veo ahí en el club, veo la página de Internet, veo el estadio, y ya me veo jugando, perteneciendo a este club, y esto es lo primero que uno puede hacer para que se den las cosas", remató.


CONFIRMÓ MARIO TREJO LA TRANSFERENCIA

El Director Deportivo de Pumas, Mario Trejo, confirmó el traspaso del jugador y dio detalles de la transferencia, la cual, destacó, es la primera que hace Pumas de un jugador surgido de su cantera directamente con el futbol europeo desde Luis García. Todo esto, en una oportuna e interesante entrevista con Estadio W.

"Sí, hoy concluimos las charlas, firmamos documentos, es un hecho, es una realidad", dijo Trejo, quien informó que "hace mes y medio más o menos teníamos acercamientos".

El directivo universitario resaltó que todo se manejó con mucha discreción por las trascendentes instancias que peleaba el equipo, por ello la noticia fue prácticamente una sorpresa para el entorno. "Estuvo gente viéndolo, inclusive en Cancún. Nosotros lo hemos tratado con una gran discreción por el momento que jugaba el club. A Héctor ya lo habían observado, ya lo venían siguiendo y finalmente hoy se concreta".

Al tiempo, dio a conocer que Moreno "viaja el día primero (de Enero) a más tardar el 2 para incorporarse a su nuevo club".

Mario Trejo dio detalles de la transferencia y resaltó la buena manera en que el jugador y su representante manejaron el asunto, pues al terminar su contrato en Diciembre, bien podría no haber informado al club e irse sin compartir nada económica ni deportivamente con la institución.

"Héctor terminaba contrato en Diciembre, platicando con su representante llegamos al acuerdo de que nos hiciera partícipes y tenemos una pequeña transacción en la transferencia, vamos a tener un 15 por ciento más en caso de transferencias del AZ a otro club y en un posible regreso a México, la prioridad es Pumas. Es de gente de bien, él pudo habernos dicho muchas gracias y hasta luego, pero por el cariño que le tiene al club fue un acto de decencia, de honradez de Héctor Moreno y nosotros estamos muy agradecidos con esto".

Además, el directivo destacó que el jugador se va con un buen contrato y bien protegido. "Se va muy bien contratado, fuimos cuidadosos, se va cuatro años y medio de contrato, se va bien contratado... Me parece que es una operación benéfica para todos, inclusive para Pumas, retomar esa línea de exportar jugadores; creo que la última vez fue Luis García, nos da gusto retomarla con Héctor Moreno".

Sobre el hecho de que el futbol mexicano esté exportando defensas, comentó. "Habla de que el futbol mexicano a pesar de todos los pesares ha ido creciendo y tomando una nueva dimensión".

Aunque Trejo comentó que lo más importante es que el jugador pueda salir, comentó que harán lo posible para que el sustituto de Moreno venga de la cantera. "Indudablemente que todo esto ha sido comentado con Ricardo (Ferretti, el técnico puma). La política de nuestra institución es voltear a nuestra cantera, nosotros tenemos gente para suplir esta ausencia. No siempre surgen jugadores con como Héctor, pero te puedo decir convencidísimo que tenemos gente de cantera que pudiera ocupar ese lugar".

Mexico striker Nery Castillo, who has joined Manchester City on loan for the season from Shakhtar Donetsk, has promised to make neighboiurs and bitter rivals Manchrester United pay for letting him go.

Castillo was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to a Uruguayan father - a former footballer who played in Mexico - and a Mexican mother of Italian parents.

He moved to Uruguay when he was two years old and grew up in Montevideo, making his professional debut at the age of 15 for his home club Danubio in the Uruguayan First Division.

It was while playing with Danubio's youth team in a tournament in Brazil that he was spotted by scouts from several European clubs, and his father and agent decided that his best opportunity would lie with Manchester United.

But when he failed to obtain a work permit, the door to United was closed.

El delantero mexicano del Barcelona, Giovani dos Santos, está cerca de culminar su contrato y podría dejar la institución, por lo que su representante lo ha ofrecido a diversos clubes de la Liga Premier inglesa pero sin éxito.

El diario español "As" informó este día que Dos Santos, una de las "perlas" de la cantera azulgrana, "comienza a entender que su futuro puede estar lejos del Camp Nou" y "está siendo ofrecido a los clubes poderosos de la Premier League".

Según el rotativo, Giovani, quien termina contrato con el cuadro culé el próximo 30 de Junio, es un jugador "que prometía mucho el pasado verano pero ahora, en pleno invierno, comienza a demostrar sus carencias para poder actuar con una mínima regularidad en el Barça".

Ante tal situación, su Representante Pini Zahavi, quien conoce muy bien la Liga Premier, lo ha ofrecido a clubes como Manchester United, Arsenal y Tottenham, escuadras a las que mandó informes del jugador complementados con imágenes de sus mejores actuaciones.

Agrega que durante su estancia con el equipo español, el Campeón del Mundo con México en el Mundial Sub-17 Perú 2005 es uno de los consentidos del técnico holandés Frank Rijkaard, aunque sus últimas actuaciones han dejado mucho que desear.

"Una de las personas que más confían en el extremo es Frank Rijkaard. Hasta tal punto que el entorno de Bojan Krkic no entendía por qué siempre jugaba Giovani y el ilerdense no tenía minutos", señala.

Finalmente, indica que "con el paso de los días las cosas han ido cambiando, aunque en Mallorca, en el último partido de Liga, el mexicano volvió a defraudar pese a el cariño de Rijkaard. El Barça no habla de su renovación y Giovani entiende que puede irse".

Hace unos días, el diario británico "The Sun" había mencionado que Manchester United, Chelsea y Tottenham buscaban hacerse de los servicios del mexicano, y que los dos últimos presentaron una oferta formal superior a los 15 millones de dólares.
