Sheri is FWA Player of the Year

Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham has been crowned Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association.

Sheringham took the award ahead of Old Trafford team-mate David Beckham and Arsenal's Patrick Vieira, who himself finished just ahead of United skipper Roy Keane.
Sheringham has netted 20 goals as United have again lifted the Premiership crown - his best-ever top-flight season.
And the former Millwall, Nottingham Forest and Spurs striker said: 'It's an honour to receive this award, bearing in mind the illustrious names who have won it in previous years.
'Although I'm very down and disappointed at the moment after going out of Europe on Wednesday night, this is a very special personal highlight in my career.
'I'd like to thank my team-mates for all their help and support this season. This is an award for the club as much as myself.'
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: 'It's a fitting tribute to a player who has contributed so much to Manchester United this season.
'It's always difficult singling out individuals amongst so many great players, but Teddy has been truly exceptional for us and thoroughly deserves the award.'
The striker, also on the shortlist for the Professional Footballers' Association award, will be presented with his trophy at a gala dinner on Thursday, May 10.
