For me it would have to be Grosso. Although he hasn't been officially confirmed yet, he has been one of the best left backs in the tournament and has got forward really well. His goal against Germany was crucial and a sublime finish. He has been much more crucial than any other Inter player I think.

yeah i agree, Grosso has been vital for Italy. The goal against Germany and the penalty he won against Australia were extremely crucial. He may lack a bit defensively, but offensively he does very well. He should do well next season with us (though i havent seen Maxwell play, so...).

Adriano didn't do as well as i hoped for, well along with the rest of the Brazil team:lol: . Cruz barely played, and Stankovic didnt do well either (though he was in the weakest team of their group so cant blame him that much). I was impressed with Materazzi, he proved to be a good replacement for Nesta, as usual excellent in the air both defensively and in attack. His sending off against Australia cant be held against him.

Cambiasso was as solid as ever :) i love that guy  he finished off one of the best goals of the tournament. Burdisso seemed to play quite well, and Figo although past his best was still quite vital for Portugal.

Didn't i tell u guys that Grosso is the best option for us in the left back???
and i also asked u all 2 watch him in the World Cup???
Well i think i was more than impressed with Materazzi cause he is one of my favourite players and i always believe in him, when he concentrate he can be the man of the match and the best defender in the World.
Materazzi isn't a replacement for Nesta cause i think this season Nesta himself was off Form and The Games that Materazzi played with Inter this season were good although some mistakes he made like Empoli's game and Porto's game but i was sure he will have a chance in the World Cup.
I don't blame Stankovic at all he was the best player on his team but he couldn't find support.
Adriano,no comment he's not on his best days now but he will come back i have this feeling, with all the criticism he's facing he will do everything 2 be back.
Burdisso was a better replacement for Zanetti more than Scaloni and Coloccini and was having a big World Cup before the injury.
Cambiasso is as usual Top Form,Figo age differs but he still has his touch and Finally Cruz didn't take his chance in easier games but he was put in a very difficult situation against Germany in the last minutes of the 2nd half and had 2 play the 2 Extra times with no supporting playmaker like Riquelme.

What has impressed me most with Grosso is that he has shown he can handle pressure and contribute clutch performances. This is essential if he is going to settle in at Inter. He may not be as naturally talented as Maxwell, but Grosso is a smart, athletic player and isn't afraid to step up in big moments. It is definitely a luxury that Inter will have two leftbacks of such quality and it wouldn't surprise me if at some point we saw one of them playing at leftwing so that they can both get on the field.

wasn't this Grosso u were all criticizing before the world cup and choosing Maxwell above him.

I still choose Maxwell above Grosso. That hasn't changed. But I'm also happy to have Grosso and always have been.

I think you were too sensitive when people suggested they preferred Maxwell. It wasn't an insult to Grosso, but rather it was a complement to the Brazilian. Luckily they are versatile enough to play in midfield too if necessary. It's better that we have both.

yes but now Grosso is more experienced and talented and played in Serie A before so 100 % he will be no 1 for Mancio, unless he put stankovic in the middle , Grosso on left wing and Maxwell on left back.

You may be right. I think there could be pressure on Mancini to prefer Grosso after this World Cup and I would be surprised if Grosso wasn't a regular starter. Grosso is more talented though? I dunno man. I'm not sure how much you've seen Maxwell, but I would think it is fairly obvious that the Brazilian is better at pushing forward. Grosso's goal against Germany was divine, but I'm not going to get carried away with my assessment of him.

yes man i saw Maxwell before i swear in the CL but dont forget that he has been out of action for more than 1 year now while Grosso was in top form.

 Materazzi already have a whole league of enemies so what matter if he make 2 from the world cup.
BTW i love all 24 members of World Cup Italian squad but as they go back 2 their clubs i start hating them again,i only like Inter Milan players.
