The matches, between Mexico and Argentina, are starting to become classic. Lately, these games have been close and are games full of effort and guts from both sides. Before the game, I thought we were going to get killed by Argentina, but now I feel proud of our NT and what they’ve accomplished. I also can't wait to see our soccer team in the next world cup; we have a great group of young players that will be ready and hitting on all cylinders in 4 years.

Yes, great job by Mexico, if it wasn't for Crespo's early equalizer I think our guys could have panicked. The game could have gone either way -I think in the end we had a little extra experience to handle the pressure.

For the most part the US had NO professional players until AFTER the 1990 WC, and as a matter of fact the US the last 10 games has won 7 , tied 2 and lost 1, scoring 14 goals and receiving only 3.:sad:

I don't know about you but in my book that's a serious record, who cares about 1940. Besides the US finished at top of the Concacaf qualies, but having said this I would not rank one team above the other until they face serious contenders in a REGULAR BASIS, and the only way to accomplish this is for both to join Conmebol. If the US and Mexico keep playing against the kinds of Barbados, Haiti, St. Kitts, etc they will never be a factor in a WC, and you just can't help it watching the Mexican media bitching about why such a lousy performance -according to them- in this WC.

IMO LaVolpe did a decent job considering 99% of the players do not play in Europe but rather in the mediocre Mexican League.

It seems it took some of you a while to recup from your loss against Argentina, and yes the better team won, and the only reason Mexico had a decent game was because La Volpe outcoached Perkerman who finally realized he needed both Messi and Tevez.

Perkerman's original lineup was a disaster, Heinze should have remained on the bench and Milito, who played brilliantly against Holland, would've solidy the defense and better communication with the midfield. Scalioni too was another one who is better fit to play an european team instead of Mexico, and the same applies to Saviola. I would have loved to see Messi from the start playing with Crespo. Riquelme would have benefitted from playing with Aimar instead of Cambiasso.

It was a matter of match-ups, fortunately for Argentina, Perkerman finally opened his eyes in the second half and La Volpe was forced to make changes due to injuries.

The truth of the matter is what Ricoo and I have been telling you for quite some time now. Mexico does not belong to football's elite, I mean what else you guys need to see to realize this.
