Inter bid for Brazilian Prodigy

12.04.01 - Inter have joined Spanish giants Barcelona in the race to sign highly rated Brazilian central midfielder Fabio Rochemback.

Barcelona are believed to have offered $US 11 million dollars for the 19 year old although Inter are prepared to pay $US 12 million to ensure the services of the player for next season. Rochemback also holds EU citizenship due to German origin making him an even more attractive option in the light of the recent passports probe. Inter have a fight on their hands after the news that midfielder Josep Guardiola will leave the Catalan club likely to result in an increased bid for any potential replacement.
