is it not possible to create a new sub forum for the england haters to post so the english defending their nation. I think this would be a good idea seams to work well on big soccer

The golden rule of rivalry.

We as the mods in this forum have quite an interesting task. In mod fashion, we try to make sure things don't get too out of hand. At the same time, we make sure things stay "interesting". However we will let a loooooot of things go because this is, after all rivalries. I have certainly taken my fair share of abuse and I welcome it as after all, I may be the biggest troll here. And let's not be naive. The reason this forum is created is to keep some, okay maybe most, of the trolls confined to one spot. So this is the stage so to speak for them (myself included) to air out the smack.

However World Rivalries does have a golden rule that seems to be lost on some. Well, maybe that's a off. Lost on many. And that rule is simple:

If you cannot take it, do not dish it.

Yes, things get heated. You make fun of people and their country's teams, clubs, of course that person will usually respond making fun of you'r country's teams, clubs. Sometimes it gets into making fun of the other's culture, etc. etc.

Bottom line - if you participate in it, don't be shocked and offended when people do the same to you. This is a rivalry forum. It's by nature a controversial forum. Sometimes things go over the line, hopefully we catch those things. Sometimes we don't.

Hopefully this will clear up any "confusion". I for one am just a little sick of the folks that go off whining and crying about "he said this, she said that, he did this" and then are guilty of the same thing - often times the catalyst of said incident. This forum may not be for everyone. Some don't like to mix it up. That's fine - there are a lot of serious football discussion threads. But here the rules are a bit different. So just remember when you click on that World Rivalries hyperlink the golden rule:

"If you can't take it, don't dish it".

We had an Anger forum. It caused nothing but problems, so we don't have it anymore.
If you don't like the rules here, then feel free to find another board.

Interesting concept.

You have to remember though, this is a public forum, and some people dont want to read about incessant chanting and insults, because thats what it had turned into, and to an extent still is.

I am not saying that there is only one party involved.......that would be naieve to even suggest that.

The only problem I see with it is that there will be a heap of new members signing up, just to join the banter section.

WE used to have an anger forum, but it created TOO MANY issues that spread to other forums, so it was deleted.

There is no guarantee that this banter forum will be kept strictly to soccer talk.

The Idea is ok, but it has the potential to create more problems than there already are, some people will think that its ok to talk the way they do in that thread, and when they go to other sections of the forum will be quite insulting, and there excuse will be "oh thats the way I talk in the banter forum but no one cares".

The best thing to do is to stick to the forum rules.

IF problems arise, we will deal with things.

You must have said something offensive to someone to get banned in the first place, and most likely you broke the forum rules in the process.
I respect the fact that you pride yourself and your nation, thats cool man.

But you dont need to start topics like "england is the best because all the others are crap" or topics that provoke arguments and insults.

Its obvious man.

If you have a problem with some members, PM a mod and we can sort these things out man..............dont create more problems by starting topics of racial hatred.
