Galatasaray coach Erik Gerets is hopeful about his team's success in the Champions League next season: "Our next target is European success. As a team, I hope we will achieve it next season. The Champions League is the arena for the 'best'. I believe we will show our hunger in Europe."
But the Belgian coach, in an Istanbul news conference, also argued that the rise in salaries for footballers and coaches is leading to problems for many clubs. "Urgent measures should be taken on this issue, as it may get worse," he said. He added that Galatasaray would do its best to add new players to their squad in the off-season, despite financial constraints: "We will do everything possible within our current financial limitations to build a great team."
