Hi,
this could be good thread to speculate next season.

I think after difficulties in 05/06 (injurywise etc) while still having a great season next season should be even better. It is interesting to see will Roma change tactic now when we have some healthy strikers. I still hope for a good targetman, maybe Mido can do the job, he at least has the talent for that job. Midfield looks once again great. It was also good to get both Cassetti and Tonetto. Both are reliable wingers that can play either in defence of in midfield. Its important to get more depth in case of some injuries comes again. Its also interesting to see how Aquilani develops and how much playing time he will get.

Injuries were ridiculous last season. This season could be even more interesting now that Roma and Inter Milan have an automatic bid into the Champions League. Does anyone know the available players from the teams that are being relegated? Adrian Mutu is a very interesting option as a sucessor to Montella.

As far as wingers go I would like to see us pursue the Swede Christian Wilhelmsson ( if that's how you spell it). He played solid games during the world cup even though his diving was excessive. He played solid defense and gave defenders plenty of trouble. Aquilani is quite promising, but he's only 21 so he has time. You can expect a good season from Aquilani.

I thought Mutu had aready signed with the Viola, a few days before the verdict. Terrible move.

I'm not sure which Juve-Viola players are available.
I wonder if anyone from Milan would be interested. I hear they're challenging the European disqualification, but I doubt it'll be successful, since there's criticism of them being kept in A anyway. So their players should consider the Capitale. Anybody with even a remote affinity for our beautiful colours should consider coming over, because we will be champs soon, and once we are, they won't even dream of leaving!

More often than not, the only thing that matters is money in a move. If only colors were the main factor because Roma's colors are beautiful.

I remember hearing from someone that all the players could legally void their contract if their team was relegated, I guess that's not the case.

Colours !!!!!
lol i just imagine a player saying that he's leaving his team for another one cause they are dressed in a better colour, this will sound Gay.

Well, Henry once correctly referred to Roma's jersey as the most beautiful in the world, thus sparking off many a rumour.

Roma does have one thing Inter doesn't, Totti. When he is in a rhythm he is untouchable.

What kind of nonsense is FIFA going to come up with next? Zidane 3 games, materazzi 2. Thats just awful somebody should lose their job for that judgement call.

King Adriano
07-22-2006, 06:55 PM
ok mr Materazzi hater look Materazzi did nothing that deserve all this noise around it's just because of ppl like u and french losers that are imagining that materazzi ***ked Zidane.
and if u dunno the punishment of actions is more serious than punishment of words.

If u have Totti then who else do u have compared 2 a full Inter squad,we have Adriano.
just tell me do u even have a 2nd striker 2 complete the roster ?? No u dont.and even ur only striker is old and finished his performances.

Hey wait a sec King Ad... I think Matizbad was criticizing the judgement for being too harsh on MM.. if not..

Materazzizbad, surely you don't think Marco deserved that ban after that damn Christian Poulsen got away scot free after provoking our Capitano?

King Adriano

i'm sure he meant Materazzi and i didn't get ur other point of Christian Poulsen what's this ???

I thought there should have been no punishment for Materazzi, he did nothing of the physical nature and I'm positive worse things have been said to Zidane before. Don't assume so much, my only hatred toward Materazzi is based on his horrendous defending versus Croatia in 2002. Although those sideburns have got to go.

Comparing Adriano to Totti is outrageous. Thats all that can be said about that, and Totti is only 29 not as old as Zanetti, or Materazzi. He can still perform at his physical peak, it's a year or two after players turn 30 that players have a steep decline in what their body can do. Inter isn't exactly young there, sir. Referring to Inter as a full squad would be loose terminalogy, and most of Inters players are past their prime. The players that have been acquired by Inter are inadequate as well, Grosso was a one time thing with the Azzuri and Dacourt is old. The other ones aren't even worth mentioning. The only youth to speak of is the two forwards. Speaking of forwards, if I'm not mistaken Montella, Mido, Nonda, Curci, and Totti are considered forwards and the only one I wouldn't defend if you insulted him is Nonda because he is pitiful.

And you forgot Stefano Chuka Okaka! Of course we'll sign more.

King Adriano
07-23-2006, 11:42 AM
isn't Curci a GoalKeeper if i'm not mistaken.
and i wasn't comparing Totti 2 Adriano but as ASTotti said that ur key player is Totti who we dont have like i answered with our Key Player Adriano that also Roma can't have a striker like him as he for a lot of ppl the world's best Striker.
And yes we may have some old players in the squad but we also have young ones and mid age ones.
We have Julio Cesar,Burdisso,Maicon,Maxwell,Cambiasso,Stankovic,Martins,Adriano and Pizarro and this is a good number of mid age and young players.
And my friend Roma doesn't have a lot of young players cause they want 2 develop them no man they have young players cause they can't afford buying big names and yet Roma has a lot of old players and Totti is one of them as reaching 30 years old he's not considered young anymore.
u have Montella,Tomassi,Panucci and Totti i know that Inter have more but our old players are World Class players like Materazzi,Zanetti,Figo and Recoba these are big names.

materazziIZbad

My mistake Cerci is the forward, not Curci. Since when is it bad to develop players instead of waiting for players to get good then trying to outbid others? Cambiasso, Stankovic, Martins, and Adriano are the best players in your list of not old players, I wouldn't put the rest of those players in a list with those players because they aren't significant.

As for old players Totti turns 30 in september, and Recoba is not world class. Figo, Zanetti, MM sure, but none of them have the ability to dictate. Totti is that guy, but Inter needs that one center mid or attacking mid that would put them over the top and they don't have it right now. A player like Pirlo or Vieira would help them so much. I have nothing against Inter but I will defend Roma.

AC Milan 1- AS Roma 2

Great result for us, it makes up for the loss to Inter at home in terms of results that we should be getting. Aquilani put a great ball in stride to Mancini to crossed to Totti for the game winner.

AS Roma - Manchester United
What do you think? Can we beat the devils ?

materazziIZbad
03-11-2007, 11:41 PM
We could very well win, man united are a very interesting team in the fact that they have almost no roster changes from the last few years and they suddenly are unbeatable. My thoughts were that if we can beat lyon then we could beat anyone in the champions league, and its not like manchester has blown people out of the water and utterly dominated, they snuck their way into 3 points the last couple times in the premiership, and they snuck their way into the next round of the champions league.

Sorry, I dont see it. I saw Roma play one decent game (tie against Lyon) and one dominating game (win at Lyon), but the truth remains that Roma look poor in Serie A, I watch them and they just seem to sneek past everyone in the league. Sorry, I think Roma's out

Yea they play terrible in the serie A, 2nd place is god awful. What point you may have is that they play poorly away from home and that they may hurt themselves too badly to recover at old trafford, all of their bad results have been away from home excluding the inter game.

Man U hasn't seen 2 center backs as good as chivu and mexes, arguably, all season. There's a reason real madrid wants them both, and theres a reason we won't give them up. I can't say I favor Roma, but I do think Roma is being seriously overlooked just because their opponent is the legendary man U.
