should the WC have a 2 year rotation? why/ why not?

FIFA wanted to have the WC every 2 years. This is good and bad. What will happen to other tounaments/cups like Euro cup, copa america, african nations cup etc... after the traditional 4 years why the sudden change? do they want more money or just want to promote football as if it needed promotion. let me know what all u think on this.

it is impossible to have a world cup every 2 years. if this were to happen you would have to move euro championship and other tournaments to every 2 years so you don't have both in the same year, and that leaves no time for qualifying. there is no way it can be done.

Also loses its importance and significance.. WC is so important because it is played only once in 4 years.. Means teams have to wait for 4 years before they get another shot at the title, but if its 2 years everyone will be winning..

Definately should stay 4 years, I mean dont you guys think the anticipation of a world cup that's 2 years would be low ? If it would be like that , quite frankly I would be bored of it, and wouldnt anticipate it as much as now. I think that if would be a major loss to soccer if FIFA would decide to have the world cup every 2 years.

The WC should stay at 4 year intervals, but I think Euro should be at 2 year intervals (like basketball). I think that after Euro 2004 the next one should be held in 2007, and then afterwards every two years.

you cant't have euro 2000 every 2 years because then it would overlap with the world cup. the system that we have now is good, one year is world cup qualification, the next year is the world cup, the year after that is euro qualification, and then the following year is the european championships, and then qualifying for the world cups starts again. why fix something that isn't broken?

It wouldn't overlap, Euro would be on odd years.
And if quals are a problem, why not skip WC quals and have the Euro serve as a qualifiying tournament as well.

I think it is a good idea! So every two years will be WC and there should be no Euro but qualification for WC. They could be organize in way of a turnament so the Euro wouldn`t die completly ;)

In the USA, soccer aka football in Europe, is a little known and attended sport , so I believe there should be some major promotional campaigning for soccer, tho' I don't like the idea of politics getting involved. It's like a separation of Church & State-the church rarely gets involved in state affairs & vice versa, so neither should politics get involved in sporting events, just big businesses to help promote and give a better viewing for soccer's sake. Any comments and disagreements?

its not going to happen. you can't get rid of the euro championships because it is far to great of a tournament, second only to the world cup. and one thing that i think everyone is overlooking is that you can't expect the players to come off a entire season of football and then go play in a major tournament every summer. The players have to have some time off to rest or there form and the competition will suffer.

There is another problem now. WC is going to be in Europe only every 16years! Do you agree with that?! I think ist should be here more offten!

there is no way hat the cup should be changed to 2 years first of all it would take away the prestige of the tournament and secondly like some one already said how can you ask the players to be o top form is every other year they have to qualify , the actual final itself is not the hardest part of the entire sequence tha hard paert is qualyfying for instance here in Cocacaf we have 6 semi final qualy games and then 10 final round qualy matches that is 16 games right not to mention that the players will have club commintments it would never work like someone said i think it was GB if it isnt broken dont fix it

I think that the prestige would be the same.
And the players can play the Q games in 2 years, thats more than 600 days man!
Still there are the Euro etc to play too, so thats why I want it to stay 4 years.

Briefly: I think it must stay as it is. WC every 4 years. I don't care if it is in Europe or Antarctica.

There are too many events. We don't only care for football, though of course it is No1, then long time nothing, then everything else.

So, including my "vote" it is 8-1 against the change.
