I have several favourite movies for different reasons.

I like the original ‘Italian Job’ because it is a funny film with a typical English humour and does not try to be cleaver, a damn good romp! Any film with Michael Caine in it is worth watching with the exception of the ‘Jaws’ movie he made.

Gladiator was a great film that was well researched and is certainly one of the greatest films ever made. It sparked resurgence in the interest in Roman and general history. It has some of the best actors alive in it from Russell Crowe to Derek Jacobi and two of the greatest British actors ever Richard Harris and Oliver Reed – hell raisers to the last!

I have just seen a film on TV that I saw first saw many years ago when I was young. ‘The Wild Geese’. I listed the book in my thread about ‘good reads’ and the film, though slightly different from the book, portrays the characters perfectly. It was released in 1978 and although it is about mercenaries and is violent it raises many political and social issues that are still relevant today. One main one being that Africa needs both Whites and Blacks to work together to succeed.

I like the original ‘Highlander’ for its total escapism.

Lethal Weapon, though possibly a bit hammy and very much of the 1980s is entertaining.

Although not a film I think it needs a mention ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ is one the greatest series ever made. The best research ever done for a film into Jewish/middle east traditions, culture and history.

There are many more but...

Mine is :

" The matrix "
" The matrix reloaded "

Both films are truly great, great storyline and worlds best fighting scenes where you wouldn't find anywhere else. Matrix trilogy is like new home for me :)

They kinda screwed up at beggining of Matrix revolution, and those shooting scenes were kinda dumb. They could do twice better job on that movie, so it's not in my fav movie collection. I'm not saying is bad, its just OK. And trilogy like matrix should be more then OK.

Neo p'wns your scarface guys!!! :D

Agent Smith: I killed you, Mr. Anderson. I watched you die... with a certain satisfaction, I might add. Then something happened. something that I knew was impossible, but it happened anyway. You destroyed me, Mr. Anderson. After that, I understood the rules, I knew what I was supposed to do, but I didn't. I couldn't. I was compelled to stay, compelled to disobey. And now, here I stand because of you, Mr. Anderson. Because of you, I'm no longer an Agent of this system. Because of you, I've changed. I'm unplugged. A new man, so to speak. Like you, apparently, free.
Neo: Congratulations.
Agent Smith: Thank you.
Agent Smith: But, as you well know, appearances can be deceiving, which brings me back to the reason why we're here. We're not here because we're free. We're here because we're not free. There is no escaping reason; no denying purpose. Because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist.
[Several Agent Smith Clones walk in]
Agent Smith Clone 1: It is purpose that created us.
Agent Smith Clone 2: Purpose that connects us.
Agent Smith Clone 3: Purpose that pulls us.
Agent Smith Clone 4: That guides us.
Agent Smith Clone 5: That drives us.
Agent Smith Clone 6: It is purpose that defines us.
Agent Smith Clone 7: Purpose that binds us.
Agent Smith: We are here because of you, Mr Anderson. We're here to take from you what you tried to take from us.
[Attempts to copy himself into Neo]
Agent Smith: Purpose.

Agent Smith: If you can't beat us...
Agent Smith Clone: ...join us.

Sorry guy's but i'm such a big fan of all those funny ununderstatemable things that agent smith says so i can't hold to post them:lol: Smith will suffice.

Hey Giorgos, is there a "hobbit" movie??
The Hobbit is a cartoon movie made in the Late 70's along with a CRAPPY Lord of the Rings cartoon movie made around the same time! I'm sure if you look up the Hobbit cartoon on Amazon.com. Oh wait found it for you.
