View Full Version : Umit Karan, out for the season?
Galatasaray's prolific striker Umit Karan, who has had a fantastic season, was
injured in the first half of the derby and left the game at halftime. It is too early to say the extent of his injury, to his right knee, but some Turkish TV reports have stated that he spent the night in a hospital and may be out of commission for the rest of the season. Orhan Ak was also injured in the match after a collision with Necati Ates. Orhan is expected to be out for a month.

I think U.Karan is the best forward the gs has. Without him I think you will stumble more easily and give up the lead to FB. Two of ur main players are out so you will definetly lose the first two games are so because you wont be used to playing without them and it will be too hard to adjust.
hopefully he will be back next season to cause greif and trouble for FB ;)
Galatasaray striker Umit Karan, whose season was suddenly ended last week in a Turkish Cup match against Fenerbahce, will undergo a knee operation Wednesday. The surgery will be performed at Istanbul's Acibadem Hospital.
Umit is still expected to be out of commission for the rest of the 2005-
2006 Super Lig season.
Umit Karan underwent a successful knee operation Wednesday at Istanbul's Acibadem Hospital. Umit left the Cup match at halftime after pulling his right knee ligament, and is expected to spend the rest of the 2005-2006 season recovering. Galatasaray chairman Ozhan Canaydin, as well as teammates Hasan Sas and Hakan Sukur, visited Umit at the hospital Thursday.

well, if you think so, you should see how rapidly Necati is increasing his goal list, and how much more old star hakan is becoming like his old days; and you had better not disagree, because Necati scored in the first derby and last derby in the 2005 season, and h.sukur scored 2 and forced deniz into an own goal in the final of the fortis turkish cup.

I am not sure wat ur trying to say but:
I think ur saying that Hakan and Necati are getting better but i am not sure. If u watch any of GS goals most of them are by luck, just sheer luck. U. Karan's goals were pure skill. Hakan Sukur just stands around waiting for a ball to hit his head, that is the only way he scores. That man has no dribbling skills. Ates is just a fat player who by chance the ball hits of people, the post, or its a random pass that just luckily falls right in front of him and he just taps it in. GS wont get those kind of chances against FB.

wow necati and hakan have 26+ goals in the league this season-how ''lucky'' can you get? and i suppose anelka and nobre make use of their basketball skills to score with their hands?

Yea, Anelka never started scoring goals on a daily basis. When he first came i thought he would lead the team in scoring but he barely does. I think we play better without him than with him. The only games he impressed me was when we beat psv 3:0 and besiktas 2:1
 yeh i agree...but u cant say that hakan sukur and necatis goals were luck man they are so talented...and hakan sukur can dribble, there have been some moments in his career that he was standing aorund waiting for the ball but he is truley the KING man...

16 out the 18 goals he scored last season were with his feet so he didnt do much waiting around for the ball to hit6 him in the head then...
no shit, and when he does hit the ball with his head, he bloody hits the thing hard and on the run most of the time aswell...bloody legend  :)
