Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce (Turkish Cup)

Galatasaray beat rivals Fenerbahce 3-2 in front of the home fans at Ali Sami Yen in the second leg match of their Turkish Cup quarterfinal. The win, while a great morale boost for the Lions who are chasing down Fener in a tight league race, was not enough as the Yellow Canaries advanced to the next round on the away goal rule. (They had beaten GS 2-1 in the first leg at Sukru Saracoglu).The match got off to a bad start for the Lions as Fener's Tuncay scored after only 8 minutes, but Ayhan Akman answered in the 12th, keeping the home side in the game. Necati scored in the 35th minute to take the lead, but Stephen Appiah equalized for Fener in the 72nd. Finally, in the 76th, Galatasaray's veteran striker Hakan Sukur found the net to give the Lions a win. But the win was bittersweet as the current Cup holders, who had beaten Fener 5-1 in last year's final, were knocked out of the competition.

Fener won the first leg 2-1 at home and GS won the second leg 3-2 at home and fener went to the next round

GS won the final last year against FB 5-1, so i guess it was FB turn to win this cup, if they can.

The super lig is gettin exciting also, FB and GS are tied on top.
