Judging by ihs performance with the Japanese national team, he's a solid striker. He doesn't have a spectacular record and I'm not expecting much from him apart from a significant strengthening of Zvezda's strikers (which is crucial considering the number of them that are about to be lured away). However I don't know how well he will fit in with the team at Zvezda. He has a diffferent playing style, and his lack of experience at European clubs (apart from a short time at Belgium's Heusden-Zolder) might take some getting used to for both him and the team.

Even though he's a relatively big name in Japanese football and has some Brazillian experience behind him, I just don't see him being "all-that". On another note, I just HAVE to say that the guy looked sooo outta place at the introductory press conference. Like he literally sat staring at one spot for a good 40 minutes and answered maybe 2 questions in 3 words even though the translator made it really comfortable for him. Everyone thought he was really scared or something..He seems like the really withdrawn type.

Anywayz, I think this is more a business move from Zvezda's side, because they know the Japanese market is a big one and this signing can bring them a good number of sponsorships, investments and tv deals from that region..they need the funds and whether or not Suzuki is a great striker-he carries capital with him!

Whether or not he will flourish in Belgrade..only time will tell!

Yeah he's allright, but I doubt he will play in first eleven. He is in Crvena Zvezda just because of sponsorhips from Japan, transfer cost nothing, and Crvena Zvezda got cash from TV rights and other japanese sponsors. There are much better players in CZ than Takayuki is.
