steve staunton??new ireland manager?? in an attemp to salvage this section of the forum...what are ur views on the subject...i for one am not too happy, considering his only previous experience was as a defensive coach at walsall, a team with the worst defensive record in their league with stan as coach... of course there is the argument, and its probably spot on...that bobby robson is infact "the manager" and staunton is the "face"..or watever...of irish football...anyway...its not looking too good for us in the future,we need a new squad ..and outwith players like kilbane and doherty...usless rolls of carpet, the two of them...anyway...anyone else see it differently?

Funny thing is most of the threads actually get a lot of views, would be better if people actually posted :D

Honestly I do not care if Rangers or Celtic win the SPL. Both teams have got too many internationals. It's not as if one team wins now, it proves one side is better at football. They should go back to hiring only protestants and catholics for each side.

Oh yea, and when this was the practice, Rangers were the dominant team.

I will give you ROONEY, he is a solid player but is half-english.

Rangers were the dominant team when they only signed protestants?
Are you a football fan at all?
They became the dominant team when Sounness came in and signed any player regardless of religion. Celtic have never only signed Catholics, never in their whole history, unlike Rangers who practised a non catholic policy for over 100 years.

Celtic won the european cup and were the first team to win 9 in a row and got to another european final and appeared in 5 semi finals of the big cup. Rangers can only have dreamt of this kind of dominance in Scottish football. When they won 9 in a row they done nothing in europe.

Actually ill point out for the benefit of anyone who does not know the history of the two clubs that Celtic have been an exclusive club to Catholics and have never descriminated against Protestants.. This has never been our concept, half the lisbon lions were protestents, our greatest ever manager in Jock Stein himself was a Protestant.

Rangers however had an anti catholic signing policy until the end of the 1980s, even now players cant cross themselves at Ibrox (Dada Prso is Orthodox not even Catholic yet they wont let him. Arveladze nearly got jumped in Belfast during a friendly for blessing himself in the Orthodox way)

-You claim that religion has something to do with wife beating though.

-I get along fine with Catholics in Ulster just not the ones who are sympathetic to the IRA and liberals politically. You are just a plain dickh**d.

I say end to brit rule, doesnt mean there cant be a multi cultural society though. You seem like a bit of racist, brining up nigerians all the time. You got a problem with nigerians?Did one of them shag your sister and she dumped you?
