Celtic took the lead in the game with a counter attack. Maloney knocking the ball down to Petrov who played a class ball through fot Zurawski who stuck the ball into the bottom corner after a great turn of pace.
Motherwell pulled on back before half time when the ball was given away by telfer and a cross was put in from the touchline which jim hamilton (guy who has played for about 4000000 clubs) scored perhaps the best goal of his life with a sublime volley from the edge of the box that went over boruc.
Second half Celtic looked stagnant and McGeady replaced the nakamura who looked like he was as ill as had been said during the week. The switch was a good one as not long after McGeady turned inside and cut back outside and hit a left foot shot which took a deflection and went over the top of smiths head into the net.
Pearson came on for Majic and had a good game against his own club sweeping everything up and spreading the ball around. McGeady was on fire and dribbled past two men like they were not there before moving along the byeline and placing the ball at hartsons feet to fire in Celtics 3rd and theg ame was over.
McGeady again had an class run and dummied a defender before smashing the ball of the crossbar. It would have been as good a goal as Hamiltons in the first half.
Motherwell pushed to get something out the game but the game was over and 3-1 was the final score.
Hearts had dropped points the day before and Celtic sit top 10 points clear of them in 2nd place, 16 clear of hibs in 3rd and 17 clear of some mob in 4th place.
Man of the match was adam virgo in his first 90 minute game for the hoops and he was solid at the back.
