just thought that this forum lacked a thread concerning this game (the one where one tries to find the 4-different-digited number, with certainly a nonzero first digit, selected the opponent).

Ne'er heard abt it y don't u start with an example ??
There's another game called Sudoku its kinda crossword with numbers, u need to use logic to fill in the numbers 0 to 9 in a 9 x 9 grid.

actually this is quite different from & simpler compared to sudoku. in this game, one selects a 4-different-digited-number in his\her mind, (that is only that person knows the number) and the task is to find this number by guesses to be done by another person, the answers to which will be given in terms as +(a digit) & -(a digit), where the values of these digits express the number of digits that the guess and the target number have in common, along with -&+ signs denoting whether they are in the same place with those of the target number's or not (+ sign is used for the ones that are in the same place with those of the targeted number and - sign for the ones which are not in the same, aka correct place).
the number of the digits of the target number can be increased to the likes of one, but definitely this will increase the complexity at the same time.
example:
the number selected by the number-generator-person(target number): 1862
first guess of the answerer:5304
the answer given to this guess:0 (the guess and the target number have no digits in common).
second guess of the answerer:9768
the answer given to this guess: +1 -1 (this guess contains 2 digits in common - 1+1=2 - yet one of them is in the correct place, which is addressed as +1, aka the digit 6, with -1 addressing to the one which is in the wrong place, aka the digit 8).
and going all the way until +4.

indeed here is a link that concerns the colored balls version of this game(instead of digits).
