Kahn extends contract with Bayern

MUNICH, Germany (AP) - Goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has agreed to a new contract to stay at Bayern Munich for another two years.
"The new contract will run until 2008. Nothing has been signed yet, but it will happen this week," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said Monday.
Kahn's contract with the defending champion and Bundesliga leader runs out at the end of this season. The 36-year-old Bayern captain has previously talked about going abroad, but now appears set to end his career in Bayern.
Kahn has been with Bayern since 1994. He has made 83 appearances for Germany.
Bayern already has renewed contracts with Germany midfielder Sebastian Deisler and Brazil defender Lucio, and has signed Paraguay midfielder Julio dos Santos.
Rummenigge said the club was also hoping to re-sign France defender Willy Sagnol and Brazil midfielder Ze Roberto, although Sagnol was quoted as telling a French newspaper over the weekend that he wanted to continue his career in Italy.
Bayern still hopes to extend the contract of midfield star Michael Ballack, Rummenigge said. Ballack becomes a free agent at the end of the season and has not committed himself.
