Londonderry is the official name. Derry is what Catholics call it.

I've been in London this year during the Easter's holidays and I'll go to Dublin for the end of the year..

London is a hell-hole now, rising crime rate, no British culture. Dublin is becoming the same way. When you visit Dublin I suggest you swing by Londonderry or possibly Belfast.. both are pretty safe now and alot safer than any other British city. Also the countryside is very nice & picturesque. And the hotels and food prices are still low.

And have u ever been to Italy?

No, never had a real desire to....... too many tourists for my liking. If I went it would not be to Rome or Milan it would be to some out of the way place where I could meet real Italians not just other visitors & tourists.

Laury84

I want to see Derry and Belfast of course and I'm not afraid but I will probably see them this summer 'cause I want to do a big journey:all Ireland,Nort.Ireland and than Scotland and nort.England(Liverpool,Manchester,Newcastle and Leeds)..But I have to work before that 'cause I need money...ihih...This winter probably I'll see only Dublin 'cause I'll stay for only 5 days...
When I went to London I saw only Italians and that was very funny...but London is too expencive and I spent so much..And a lot of english treated us badly 'cause we were Italians...But on the other side there were some very kind person that treated us very well.... I really don't know what they think about us...Do u know if they hate us?What do u think about Italians?

Laury84
11-02-2006, 03:19 PM
You should go in Puglia and in Toscana..no,not in Toscana 'cause there are only english up there.....ihih
But u have to see Milano...it's the most beautiful city in the world...and there are a lot of real italians if u go in the right places...and it's my city..and u have to see S.Siro...it's the 2nd biggest stadium in europe..and it's amazing...u have to see it...

You should go to Sicily during Carnivale then, it is like mardi Gras and great fun. Sciacca would be a good place and it is pretty cheap too.

ULSTER....but what team do u support in the northern Ireland league?I don't know so much about that league....

The Irish Premier League is similar to the SPL in that it is dominated by 2 teams (Linfield & Glentoran) I root for them in Europe but besides that I do not pay much attention to this league... mainly because I hail from Londonderry and there are no teams in the IPL from there.. so I have no "hometown side" to root for.

Yeah I know that...

But do u "have problems" only with the Irish Catholics,or with all the Catholics?

Only with Irish Catholics who support terrorist organizations & who support communist politicians like those in Sein Fein.

Northern Ireland is not about religion as much as it is about ethnicity.

When I went to school in the U.S. my two best mates were Catholic, one of mostly Polish origin & one of mostly Italian origin.

The statement that Protestants in Ulster hate all Catholics is simple Republican propaganda.

Yes.... for some college.

I do not support the members of "terrorist groups" who sell drugs to their own people & are involved in prostitution... there deserve to be hanging from a tree branch as well.

My solution for Northern Ireland would be to seperate the country into two.. one being for Catholics & one part being for Protestants. Catholics govern Catholics & Protestants govern Protestants. That is the only way to have long-lasting peace. Of course this would be difficult because it is a politically incorrect idea. Look at the model of Yugoslavia. That region is now peacful because each ethnic group governs themselves. Multiculturalism causes too many problems.

- Go to this webite www.theulsterscots.com , it gives a good background.

- The "funny" thing is that in another 40 years England will be a muslim country. That is why I love the Waterside in Londonderry so much. It is a place that still contains a Protestant British culture unlike the major cities in England.

- I studied near Washington D.C. I came back to Ulster because it is 20 times safer than any U.S city. I never went to the U.S. with the intention of staying.. especially Washington D.C. ..... what a hell-hole that was. I seriously think that the inner city of Washington is more dangerous than Iraq. Gangs, Drugs, Crime is everywhere.

Yes, Washington is terrible. Northern Virginia is a very nice area but it is very expensive. Go to smaller English cities in the South if you are considering visiting England. Northern Cities have lost most of their English culture because of mass third word immigration. Birmingham & London will be majority muslim in the next 10 years. England is dead!!!

If I were you I would stay in Italy.

American cities are pretty much as Ulster described, i too would not reccomend moving to one. They are unfriendly in nearly every case. The only possible exception is Boston, parts of it are very nice. I would reccomend Montreal as well that is a very nice city.

if you don't mind me asking, what kind of work do you do that you cannot do in Italy?

I am dissapointed reading this. I always thought that I would eventually go to some medium sized American city where life isnt so fast as an exchange student. I really want to see the place. From what my freinds tell me, the American countryside is much more welcoming to a non English speaking person, than the French country side is to a non French speaking person (I say this from expereince).

4 Sicilian: I'm studying biology and I wanna do expecially research, but in Italy there aren't money 4 this and we've got some other problems..4 example we've got the vatican and we can't do a lot of experiments 'coz the church says that they're unmoral or stuff...It's really difficult...Infact all the people that wanna do that usually go in the us or canada,germany,Belgium,etc...That's s*** 'coz Italy is the best place in the world...lol

Laury i didn't mean to dissuade you from living in America or even visiting.

Don't get me wrong, i love it here. We have a little of everything. Beaches, mountains big cities, little cities, open coutnry, Everything.

But if you want to move to a big city that is nice they are hhard to find. NYC is nice to visity but i used to live there and didn't like it, people are unfriendly oftentimes.

But if you go out west it is the opposite, everyone is friendly and outgoing. Same with the coastal south and vermnot and places.

If you have any particular questions feel free to ask and i will be happy to answer.
