It has too be Liam Brady. A true legend in the midfield for Arsenal in the 70's.

I was hoping someone would say Ray Kennedy, but he was only a teenage striker with Arsenal.

He became a cult hero at Liverpool.

But I dont think ray kennedy is undeserving of the title of greatest ever player.

It is a really tough call, but i would like to say Pat Rice, purely because of his years of service and loyalty to the club.

In my era, i would say Nigel winterburn, lee dixon or even Ian wright up there, but still, its a tough call to just pick one player.

The memory does strange things. I was sure Ray Kennedy was well established before his move to Liverpool. Just checked...only 23 when he transferred, so not as old as I thought...but he did have 4 years there after making his debut. I considered Pat Rice too. And Peter Storey.
I must admit, as good as Dixon and Winterburn were for Arsenal, they didn't shine for England. Unlike Adams...who was a great defender and became a better footballer after Venger's arrival.
