Some questions about the Socceroo's jersey

First, congratulations to the win against Urugay, the penalty shootout was thrilling :D

Now, let's get down to brass tacks.

My first question refers directly to the game - what was the little black text written beneath Australia's logo? Was it some kind of anniversary or did I just never notice it before?

Second one - where the heck can I order the jersey? It's not available in any shop I know, neither at the official ones nor on eBay.

And the Third one - is Australia going to get a new jersey design for the WM '06? If yes, when is it going to be released?

A lot of questions, now I'm hoping to get a bunch of answers..thanks in advance

1. The black text or embroidary underneath the logo I think is there for the players. I think it has on it "Australia/Uruguay 16th November 2005/Sydney, Australia. Just so the players can remember the occasion and what they wore on that day

2. Ordering the Jersey - they are by Nike - check out their Australian site www.nike.com.au and the Green and Gold Army at www.ggarmy.com

3. New Design? I doubt it and I have heard nothing about a new design so I guess they will stick with the one similar to when we played Uruguay

i heard they are making a new one for the world cup!... but im not sure... a lady from rebel sports told me as i was checking out the jersey..~ but i guess we'll just wait and see!...

Nike says the jersey is for the 04/05 season, so maybe they will make a new one for '06. And yeah, the stuff below the Football Australia logo is just match deatils, date, etc. Pretty handy if they decide to turn it into memorabilia and such.

The guys at Sportarena, our local dealer for sport equipment etc., said there's going to be a new jersey coming in January/February 2006. Hmm

The black text embroidery was a message in respect of the late great Aussie captain Johnny Warren.
He led Australia to their only ever world cup appearance in 1974.

he died 18 months ago of a cancer related illness.

Yup there is deffinetley a new jersey for the World Cup. Hope they dont change it too much but
