Newcastle United boss Graeme Souness will check on Fenerbahce striker Sancli Tuncay in Turkey's World Cup playoff against Switzerland.
Newcastle have no cash left to spend in the January transfer market but will need another striker next summer with Alan Shearer retiring.
Tuncay, 23, is highly rated by his club Fenerbahce who fought of Newcastle's interest in Nicolas Anelka earlier this year.
