Rosenborg-Real Madrid: The spirit of the Champions must guide them to the last sixteen
Without the poor weather of previous matches, but with some significant absences –Helguera, Ronaldo, Zidane, Baptista, Pablo García and Gravesen- Real Madrid face their first chance of securing their passage into the last sixteen (Tuesday, 8:45pm, Canal +). The Norwegians, with the irregular state of their pitch, and with their weapon of aerial play, they will try to surprise the Whites who will have David Beckham back with them again.
Since August when the draw for the Champions League paired up Real Madrid and Rosenborg, all the media have been talking about precedents, the same that predict that the Whites have always been European Champions when they have played against the Norwegians on the way. Now, with two victories and a defeat, Luxemburgo's team find themselves with their first opportunity –as long as Olympiacos don't score - to get into the last sixteen. If they manage it, there will be the incentive of a battle with Olympique Lyonnais for the leadership of the group.
Like in Seville
Luxemburgo does not want to mislead anyone, and in the press conference before the duel he made his intentions very clear: “With so many absences, all we can do is to play like we did against Betis”. And with this formula there will be Sergio Ramos and Diogo in midfield, with Beckham –who will return in place of the sanctioned Pablo García- on the right, and the offensive trident composed of Guti, Raúl and Robinho. The Englishman, who will be playing his one hundredth Champions League match, still has some pains, but he did not hesitate when the moment came to support his team-mates in this difficult part of their calendar. On the bench, which will be full of home-grown players and without Salgado – praiseworthy for his bravery despite his problems -, Luxemburgo will be able to breathe more easily if they can get a positive result in Trondheim. The recent mishap for Iván Helguera, obliged the coach to replace him with Pavón.
The weather in Norway has surprised the team. When the match is played the weather is expected to be light showers and ten degrees centigrade. On this occasion, luck is on the side of Real Madrid as, exactly one week ago, this northern location was covered in snow. It will be a favourable factor, but will be balanced out by the irregular playing surface, as could be seen during their session at the Lerkendal Stadion. Around 25,000 spectators will be present to cheer for a repeat of the 1997-98 season…
This is because the Spanish team is no stranger to Norwegian soil. On that occasion, the first in which Iker Casillas played away with Real Madrid, Rosenborg beat the Whites on a frozen pitch (2-0). Revenge came two seasons later. With their backs against the wall, Raúl ensured classification for Madrid in similar temperatures, and overcame the playing conditions just before the middle of the second half. Now, with a re-modelled Lerkendal Stadion the pressure will be higher as their enthusiastic fans will be closer to the pitch, in pure English style.
Strand leads
Responsible for the goal at Santiago Bernabéu, and leader of Rosenborg for the last decade, Roar Strand will try to keep their options for the Champions open along with some of his team-mates who have experienced a tragic domestic competition. Once the Norwegian league comes to a close –this Saturday - in seventh position, the team of Per-Mathias Hogmo will try to accumulate sufficient distance from Olympiacos to assure their passage, at least, into the UEFA Cup. A date with history, memories of those matches which were played out at the Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim. It's almost a match ball, but if the evening goes positively, Madrid can forget about the Champions League until 2006

Why only one can do it? We could gather together, like a chatroom, talking with each other about the game, discussing the best moments (and worst ones, I hope not too frequently, LOL)... no need to childish fight.

My intention was not to offend you, I was only expressing my opinion. I, for one, am able to see RM' games, but the ones who don't have the possibility to see the games, aren't able to know what is happening on the field. Once again, no offence.
As for the game, I can say RM just wanted to take the 3 points, and so they did, no spectacular game or anything. RBK had a few good chances of scoring themselves. But after 2-0, real kinda stoped their engines :) They knew they'd win.

To be honest they both suck and seem quite retarded to me.
I just watch the play by play on Eurosport.com, it's always there(la liga and CL), on time, and has good commentators.
Here's an example of today's game: http://www.eurosport.com/home/pages/v4/l0/s22/e10187/live_lng0_spo22_evt10187_mtc122445.shtml
I mean sure, put up threads like this to discuss the game, that's fine, and i support that, but fighting over "who is doing it" is retarded at best.
.. whatever... i watch the match i dont know why i care about this lol

First of all guys, it's Rosenborg, not Rosenburg.
Second of all they are not the best club in Europe.
Third of all until we can beat Lyon who beat us the last time we met, 3-0, then you should start celebrating.
But yeah we are on a good track. :D

well since no one had a comment on barca's win today then i would just like to remind u madrid fans that barca won today yes they won 5-0...so therefore barca scored 10 goals in 2 games...and guess wat there was no penalty and no red card and the ref was really good....but then i i must be missing something...u guys might know better than i do...y are barca so damn good!!!!!
b4 i go i would like to refer to eto'os 3rd goal...u might want to check that one out....thats for some ppl who said that eto'o is no where close to ronaldo's abilities in scoring...

Erm bojabjab, if u want to celebrate be my guest, but in the CL you arent our opponents yet, so u dont concern us yet. We got our own problems to deal with. You got a barcelona forum, use it to celebrate. When it comes to eto vs ronnie, erm a goal is a goal, ronnie's record is far more consistent and his goal scoring to game ratio is better too.
bojabjab you should celebrate on the barca forum unfortunately... there's no one else ther :D
5-0 at home vs pana .. erm.. ok
How about i break ronaldinho's leg, suspend a few more barca players, and have et'o injure a few ligaments. if you manage to beat teams in that kind of scenario... that's a cause for celebration

I must say that i... can't say hate, but i really do NOT like barcelona, i mean.. how can I ? I love Real Madrid and nothing can change that, not even bad results or awful games, cause I have to admit that real are not playing at their very best right now. Still, I also admit that at this moment, Barcelona is stronger than Real Madrid, perhaps they are the strongest team in the world, after seeing Chelsea's performance against Betis. Also, they (Barca) can win every match with no problems, yet they had some problems theirselves and were also helped by the refs, but nevermind that. Barcelona is a great team, but can never ever compare to Real Madrid, not now, not in the near future. I only hope that the best team may win the derby and also "la liga", and no matter the result, I will still love Real, 'cause that's what a true fan does, supports his team even if they do not perform well.
As for Eto'o, he is a good player, but will never raise up to Ronaldo's world class style. Peace and once again, may the best team win ;)

for the person who posted about the best team winning
you said you will support real madrid whatever the result 'because thats what a real fan does'
i hope you are not suggesting that Barcelona fans aren't true supporters? granted, i can very rarely go to watch them as i'm english and living in england but i can assure you i am as good as a supporters as i can be
for many years i have sat watching Real Madrid win la liga and trophies and Barcelona going without, it was awful but being a true barca fan i accepted it
i hope you are not saying we only support them now we are winning things
i apologise if i have misunderstood what you said, its just how it comes across to me

No, i wasn't suggesting that, i don't even care if you truly support barca or if you like them just when they win trophies. I was actually reffering to those so called fans who seem to make stupid comments when their favourite team isn't winning or isn't playing well. That's one thing i really hate. They know who they are, and they should change their attitude. I did not ment to offend anyone, but this is the truth, I just saw this kind of attitude at some of RM's poor performances, including the blaming of some great players and i truly disagree with that.
