News just broke in Uruguay that one of the AUS Ast. Coaches came on a Fox Sports show and stated that they were ok with respect to yellow cards as FIFA had cleaned them from the slate.
Can someone confirm this?
If this is the case, then Uruguay should have their yellow cards cleaned also. Meaning that Lugano, Pouso & Varela should be able to play.
Can someone confirm?

A paper in Sydney (Daily Telegraph) suggested this without ever contacting FIFA - so I think the Australian Assistant coach would be right in saying that he is 'almost certain' that the cards wont carry over. It was only one game that we had to play anyways, not a whole series of qualifiers.

But that game resulted in AUS players with yellow cards. Those should be carried over. Don't you agree?
It doenst matter what mechanism we used as qualifiers. IF you played one game and us 18, their qualifiers and if the yellows carry over, they should carry over for both.
I think FIFAs posture on YEllow Cards is stupid. They are carrying over yellow cards from qualifiers to the WC. ITs stupid. IT should get a clean slate. They are two different tournamnets.

News just in - Australia Yellow cards WILL carry over says FIFA but the FFA want official word if Uruguay's will also carry over.
They must if it is to be fair-play. Some key players of ours on on yellow cards (seven in all!!) such as Cahill, Bresicano and it shits me, so Uruguay better get the same treatment otherwise it will be a big disadvantage for the return leg...
