Zinedine Zidane is set for a break in order to recover from a groin problem.
Zizou was sidelined in September following a World Cup qualifier against Republic of Ireland.
He managed to recover in time to feature against Switzerland and Cyprus and help guide France to Germany 2006.
However, Zidane has since struggled for form with Real Madrid and it has now been decided that he needs to rest.
"I need to stop, I have pain and I need a break," Zidane confirmed.
"I can't carry on playing like this."
As well as missing Real's next three games, Zidane will also be unavailable for France's games against Costa Rica and Germany next month.
Despite the injury French coach Raymond Domenech will call Zidane up, but realises he will not be fit.
"At first, I will call him up to know exactly what the situation is," said Domenech.
"But of course it is out of the question to take any risks and make his injury worse.
"I don't want to go too far. The most important thing this season, is to get him available for World Cup."
This is great aint it. Another problem. Oh well.
