[QUOTE=sonofrecoba]
But at this point lets just finish it. Only countries mentioned : AUS / URU. For the record, I dont know how a team with 1 semi-star (Kezman) can be so confident. In fact in the WC draw, I have you as a team I would like to face in bucket3. IF you want to discuss this, let's open a SERBIA-URUGUAY thread (STRICTLY FOOTBALL).
Everyone agree?
[QUOTE]
is kezman just a 1 semi-star player? plz explain why you think this way.
lets discuss why you uruguay ppl think your better than serbia..

Thanks for opening up the thread.
I don't think that Uruguay is a favorite against Serbia. I think that all european teams pose problems for south america. I just don't understand how you can be so confident about beating us. Fine, you went first in your group...but in europe groups are made of 2 teams...I think Serbia is a good team, no doubt...I just think you can't just think you would kill us.
Kezman is a semi-star bec. he has failed at Chelsea. He has performed at NS level, and that is more important. He is comparable to Forlan, but Diego has the advantage of having already proved hsi worth as Pichichi. The way Atletico is going, Kezman may not. Agree?
Agreed, at Germany for sure there are more Serbians than Uruguayans.
Listen, in the end, we should be friends. We are both small countries with a solid soccer tradition trying to beat the biggies. I have no beef with Serbia, I just think you should project your aggression to other teams.
Right?

Dont worrie, u will always be welcomed here.
Just dont worrie too much about Kezman its his partner upfront Nikola Zigic which worries many countries. He is the one that turned the tables on Spain, when we played them away. He is 6'7.5" or 202 cm tall striker. He is not the greatest ball handler, but he can assist/score unbelievably with his head.
I personally believed it was he who sparked our 7 goals in 4 matches goals streak, even though he didnt score a single goal. It was the fear of letting him be open that worried most defenseman which drew many players off Kezman.

Why do you call everyone "pickice"? Would you really feel happier if the whole world hated us, serbs?
I mean, your capacity to insult absolutely every foreigner that comes around has almost become a regular joke here.

I agree and apologise for my previous post. Regarding our players, i think Milosevic is too old now and is way overrated. He should be taken off our NT. I think our best player is Zigic, due to his massiveness  give me som details on Uruguays team???

who cares who has the stars because stars dont win games
look at greece, nobody ever heard of them and they won the european championships
lets face it we are at a level of soccer where most nations can compete. and ofcourse uruguay would not be an easy match, i really don't see any clear result there...
as far as our stars, we really dont have many and i like it...i remember the yugoslavian team with Mijatovic, Mihajlovic, Milosevic (all "stars" in Europe) and they got us nowhere...
KIDS WHO FIGHT are beter then STARS WHO DANCE! thats my philosphy:D

i agree with you man, thats a smart post!
Greece won with no well known stars... our yugoslav team had stars but we failed!
we are in good form now, zigic is performing so well lately and i know ppl think that kezman doesnt do much, but he manages to score nearly every game! he is an asset, at least he can put the ball in the net when he has to.
I CANT WAIT FOR GERMANY!!!!!!!!!

kezman is very underrated for some reason!!!
hes a very good player especially considering he isnt even a STRIKER!!!!!! he scores the most goals on our team as a winger
as far as the english league goes he wasnt really given a chance and who knows what went on behind the scenes...who likes the english?!

what about Uruguay?
2006 preliminary stats:
Team MP W D L GF GA Pts
Uruguay 18 6 7 5 23 28 25
We received an awful lot of goals, but most of them were in a series of horrible early games (http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/t/team/overview.html?team=uru) . Things have straightened up since then.

Uruguay is a very good squad, no doubt about it. I consider all South American nations to be solid squads and I am a firm believer that South America should have more spots in the World Cup (at least 6, come on).
A lot of people think that SA is all about Argentina and Brazil, but that is simply not the case. Being drawn with any of the SA teams is a tough task and I think that SCG vs. Uruguay would be a very uncertain matchup with no clear outcome.
I would love for SCG to play a friendly against Uruguay, Paraguay or Ecuador before the world cup! It would be an excellent matchup for both teams involved.
That being said, I of course hope and believe that we WOULD come out on top against any SA team other than Argentina or Brazil. Still though, good luck to Uruguay at the World Cup -- you guys are always welcome on this board!

This is an interesting discussion and Id like to add one or two things.
First of all, uruguay has a long tradition of football excellence, dating back to the 1930s as we all know. Thats why one should never underestimate the uruguyans. Netherveless I dont consider them to be a a serious challenge to the squad of Serbia and Montenegro, simply because they dont seem to be as strong as them. S&M might have no big names, but they have a very good team spirit and the chemistry between the players and the coaching staff is working very well. Also there seems to be some kind of mission for this squad, which consists of bringing the Serbs back to the international spotlight by means of sports. So there is dedication, motivation and a clear goal for this team. Plus there is a big disadvantage for the Uruguyans in case the meet S&M in Germany: the huge amount of Serbian fans in Germany.
Greetings from Stuttgart (Germany) :D :D :D

With all my respect, you guys still have to face Australia before being actually qualified for the world cup. Then, if we meet, it will be an interesting confrontation.
