For Italy, Facchetti was capped 94 times (a record at the time), scoring three goals. He played for his country at the 1966, 1970, and 1974 World Cups, and was part of the winning Italian squad at Euro 68. Facchetti was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004.

He also managed Inter from 1942 to 1943. With Ciro Ferrara, Virgilio Rosetta and Giuseppe Furino, he's one of the four players that won 8 Italian Championship. He won 5 Championship with Juventus, 2 with Inter and 1 with Bologna. With the Italia national team won 2 World Cups in the 1934 and 1938
