Well, I'm just really bored, so i decided to make a new thread. Well, who do you think are the players that can win us a spot at next summers world cup?

I think Aloisi, Culina, Breciano, Viduka, Kewell and Cahil are those that can help our country beat Uruguay. This is my opinion, but i'd like to hear yours as well =].

we do have players that can take us to the world cup finals. We dont need a 'pele' or 'maradona' or any of those south americans.

No i dont think we need retired international stars.

Kalac will be key and whoever makes up the defense also like *********** said, we can't rely on only our attacking stars to pull us through.

we just need some confidence. I think when uruguay score against us. WE think the whole game is over.. we have to be a team that can come back if we get down. WE also need confidence to be able to score the first goal and not get nervous.. we should score the first goal and be confident enough to keep scoring more against a south american team like uruguay. We just have not gone very far before... i think we can do really well... its just a confidence thing, and lack of experience..

but goodluck to the australian team, i will be supporting them 110%

yeh i remember reading somewhere that John Aloisi said that his team-mates (in his old club Osasuna who have a few Uruguayan's in there) told him that we an I quote "shit our selves" when it comes to these big games. I am convinced that if we dont shit ourselves and play good, confident football as a team like we did against Jamaica, then we should get through. Guus Hiddink I think can drill that mentallity into our players and get the best out of them not only tactically, but mentally as well - something that was missing four years ago. :stop:

we cant just completely rely on our attack so someone in the defence is going to have to stand up and be counted. Its down to the likes of Craig Moore to get us a clean sheet and I think Kalac should be in goals instead of Schwarzer, his handling and aerial ability is second to none - thats why AC Milan signed for him so I think those two players will be key also.
have u ever watched Spider in goals LIVE..... i have and i must say he is funny as hell....
at S.United he would stop the hardest shots and let in easy weak low shots due to his hieght.....

But its down to the Croatian Sensations to get as to the WC (Culina, Viduka and Skoko)

and i hope Ned Zelic gets a recall best Defender Aus. has.

Some people are calling for Muscat to come back as well, seems improbable though considering he hasn't been in the past two squads.

Looks like Craig Moore is out with a persistent hamstring injury and his last real competitive matches were in the Confeds Cup so playing in the qualifying matches seems very unlikely as there is a huge risk in risking a non match-fit player.

Looks like Muscat could be back after all!

Hey!!! Uruguayans players don't get drunk one hour before an important game. They might get drunk the night before the game, but that's something else. They also use to rent a house next to the training facilities and fill it with first class hookers, but that's also something else.
