This is gana be a good game in my opinion.. I think both teams are pretty even but Fener has home ground advantage and trust me, they're hard to beat at home. Good luck to the turkish side.

Well let's see now..

Fenerbahce already played 2 games in CL, so Schalke04 is pretty familiar with Fenerbahce and will be taking extra cautions against us. Daum is expected to play-out something completely different, as he is playing against his own countries team and the fact that he was denied from being the coach of the German NT team a couple years ago has gotten him . Tuncay might make an appearance on this game, but nothing is for sure yet. Fenerbahce are currently focusing on the Ankaragucu game, the next game on the fixture for the Turkish Super-League.

If we can get the 3 points from this match then we will get more closer to either play in the second round of the CL or go to the Uefa Cup.

Nobody is thinking UEFA Cup ;)

We'll either get to the second round, or get to the second round. If we win this one, we'll probably qualify. We would have 6 points in 3 games played, and would only need 3 more points to qualify from the group. I figure 9 points will be enough since there will be more draws our group. So this game is crucial, Daum better do things right.

No, I understand. I think Schalke is a lot better team than PSV by any means. They have ambition and will, which PSV lacked and caused them to be made fool of in Turkey.

Schalke is a new promoted team, just as Fenerbahce is. Their quantity at this point is unknown, and they're definitly a team of making a big suprise. I know Fenerbahce will not underestimate them though, we made lots of mistakes in past (like that) and we're not taking that road again.

Fenerbahçe aim to get ahead

Fenerbahçe SK aim to kick off a run of back-to-back victories over FC Schalke 04 with a UEFA Champions League win in Istanbul on Wednesday.

'Three points will be ours'
"We know Schalke are very good. We are not underestimating them but we have our own talents and if we can get them into play, then the three points will be ours," said Fenerbahçe coach Christoph Daum. The Turkish champions play the German side again in their next Group E game on 1 November, and Daum is "aiming for four or six points from our two matches". First though: "We want a win to put pressure on them when they are playing at home. We know how important details are in this kind of match."

Progress made
Fenerbahçe failed to progress from the group stage last term, but Daum insists his squad gained important experience and have been bolstered by the subsequent arrival of players such as striker Nıcolas Anelka and midfielder Stephen Appiah. "Last season the nine points we had were not enough to take us to the next round. I hope that this season nine, or more, will take us where we want to be," said Daum, for whom forward Tuncay Şanlı is not fully fit despite a brief cameo in the 2-1 weekend victory over MKE Ankaragücü, and who is likely to start with Tuncay and defender Servet Çetin on the bench.

Schalke undaunted
Schalke, however, seem far from cowed by either the hosts' confidence or the fiery atmosphere that reigns at the Sükrü Saraçoglu stadium. Part of the reason may be that they have a player who knows Turkish football well. "I don't think we are going to be put off by the Fenerbahçe fans. I've explained what it's like to my team-mates and we've played well in more difficult circumstances," said Schalke's Hamit Altıntop, fresh from an outing last week for the Turkey national team.

No mixed loyalties
Hamit added that there was no doubt where his loyalties lay. "I am here playing for my team. Of course, it's ironic to be playing Turkey now. There'll be some of my friends on the other team but I'm here for three points as a Schalke player," he stressed.

'Battle for second spot'
Coach Ralf Rangnick said Hamit was almost certain to start a match, he believed, would be crucial to deciding second place in a group including AC Milan and PSV Eindhoven. Milan lead with four points from two games, while PSV and Fenerbahçe have three points and Schalke one. "Milan are favourites from this group. In a way this tie looks a little like the battle for second spot," Rangnick said.

Fenerbahçe seek respect
On that, Daum and Rangnick agreed. "This is a group that is very strong and very balanced," said Daum. "Milan are favourites and the others are battling for second place." For Daum, Fenerbahçe are also battling for something else: the respect of the rest of the European footballing community. "Fenerbahçe's aim is always to compete and match the best European clubs, so there is something more important than the three points at stake. We're playing to prove we're up there with Europe's best,"” he said.

No, actually we missed lots of goals and gave them one for free.

Volkan made an unthinkable mistake, he missed the ball and it just went in

it was a dissapointing end to the match, i was hoping one goal would come from anelka but that wasn't happening. after the first goal, we just sat back and relaxed and we all know that's not the way to play in champions league. they scored 2, than with the coming of tuncay we felt alive again and made it level. the terrible mistake by volkan really killed us, appiah could only do enough to get it back on the same ground. alexs red card was really stupid, he's always quiet and never tackles hard than all of a sudden he tackles the guy from back and to do that in front of that kind of ref is just plain stupid. hopeful about the upcoming schalke04 game though, we were clearly the stronger side today eventhough they controlled the game. we scored goals when we needed, just didn't have enough time to score one more. I think even with 10 men, if we had about 10 minutes we would've made it 4-3 anelka would've stepped in and made a penalty or something. anyway, we got beaten once, we drew once and we won once. this matchday doesn't affect the status of our group at all, we still have as much chance as the other teams. we just have to and try to be more careful, and for gods sake take that nobre out he can't shoot the ball with his legs. the fact that milan drew with psv means that milan isn't much better than the other three teams, it's going to be a fight untill the last match. GO FENER!
