Alan Shearer might start his coaching career sooner than later. Word is the FA plan to groom his to become the next england manager and eriksson has already talked to him about how he may be able to help now.

Oh my God! Will this guy ever go away?!?!

He was bobbins for England, bobbins for Newcastle and he will no doubt be bobbins for which ever team he manages!!

All he could do was head the ball or take penalties.
He is so boring!

Speaking of boring, did you hear about the time a radio presenter from jordie land was ripping the piss out of him on a phone-in? Well, Mr Shearer did'nt take too kindly to the abuse and phoned in him-self, saying that he was in-fact not boring at all. A few mins later, team-mate Rob Lee, phoned in and said that he was!!!:smoking::rolling:

you obviously never watched shearer when he was young and healthy. in 1994 alan and romario were considered the two best strikers in the world. this is also the same man who scored the most goals in euro 96. i do agree that now adays hitting penalties and winnin the ball in the air are really the only things he does well anymore. but you have to remember he had two career threatening knee injuries that slowed him down so much. this man used to run at defenses all day and he is still one of the best finishers in the game, but because his speed is gone he can't get open like he used to. Shearer was the best striker i have ever seen and i think he would be a great coach.

Ok, maybe I'm not giving credit where it's due. I probably just bitter that when he was still playing for England, he got picked game after game after game, no matter what kind of form he was on. Also, that he did'nt sign for Utd, when he was at his peak. I heard that the Jack Walker, would not sell him to Utd because 'you could kiss the title goodbye for the next 10 years'.

I still would not say that he ever was one of the best strikers in the world. I am always suspicious of 'bulky' forwards, I prefer, smaller nimble ones, with lots of skill.

well it wasn't that walker wouldn't sell him to united. it is just that shearer called off the deal at the last second to play for newcastle (good choice). and you should also know that alan was a bit thinner in his youth, he added more meat when he lost his speed because he needed to hold off defenders more. but you are right that he was always picked. but than again i would probubly have picked him also.
