I think most people do not like Beckham because he has that 'superstar celebrity' type of status, as opposed to being a very good world class footballer. I mean, just because even girls in the states, who know nothing about football( or soccer...w/e), know who Beckham is because he is good-looking, gives no reason to hate on the guy. He still gets on the ground for his team, performs, and is at the same time, a hella good-looking guy.
Rooney, is kind of my favorite. I like flamboyant players, just not flamboyant ones that suck, and can't really back-up they're bullshit with performances on the pitch. For 19, hes doing very well, international and club level, and is one for us to keep watching in the future.
As for my player that I hate, I don't really have one. =/

I don't really like Landon Donovan. I don't like how cocky he is (like after the Mexico game, when he didn't do anything but was still cocky). I don't like how he was having a difficult time in Europe, so instead of working at it he came crying back home and now everyone sees him as the face of American soccer and some type of hero. I don't like he he wastes his potential by remaining in the MLS instead of playing hard in a lower level of Europe and working his way up since he couldn't cut it for Leverkusen in Germany. I just don't really care for him that much. He's a guy that, in my opinion, talks the talk, but doesn't really walk the walk that much. Hopefully he can perform well in WC 2006 and prove me wrong.

The whole South Korea 2002 squad, because they're the lousiest bunch of players every, but they fixed the tournament on their own soil. I can't believe they're cheating ways. I hope in the next world cup they learn their lesson in the group stages :boo:

Rooney and Beckham are very good players and respectable, Rooney has his 19 year old passion for the game so getting mad at referees isn't a crime for most of us who know alot about the game. ;) Beckham is a great player and human being, I've dissed him in the past calling him a "pussy" etc... but ever sicne he left ManUtd and come to Real Madrid I got to know him more and he isn't a "pussy". :D
The bottom line is every player has their own characteristics and everyone has thier opinions about them. :smoking:
