Completely agree with that. I agree with starting Kovac, hes an excellent marker and would be able to atleast neutralise the threat of Adriano.

Kovac and Cannavaro complement each other nicely. Canna is a great man marker, and Kovac a zonal defender...good combo! :thumb:

Vieira Camoranesi
Emerson
Zambrotta Cannavaro Kovac Blasi
Abbiati
wierd formation but i think it could work, why not?
did you take Zlatan out because of his game against rapid?

not only that game, but most of the games this season. hes been very arrogant and selfish. he should pass the ball more and stop thinking hes the best player in the world cause hes not. individual players dont belong at Juventus, we've always been praised because of how we play as a team, not as individuals.

This is a very interesting thread so far. I cannot post my lineup as interesting points have been brought up about the Juve attack. I've been feeling that Trez is really not up to his game so far this season. I find that he is missing those golden opportunities to hit the back of the net - but then again can this be caused some how by Zlatan's overshadowing? I just don't know. I really want to see DelPiero in this game and REALLY want to see Juve win.
How long has it been since we beat Inter?

well i think that DP should definetely get a chance to play. he hasnt played much this season but when he has played hes played well. somehow i think this will be a disappointing season for him, but its all cause he hasnt been given a chance.

Hah dude thats the weirdest formation ive ever seen! Trez could do well as a lone striker, but Nedved has to play on the left and Camoranesi isnt really defensive. Looking at it once again besides for where Nedved is it isnt that whacky, but i think we shouldnt really be experimenting like this against Inter.

Italy has had a habit of developing good left and rightbacks that can aid the attack in recent years, but not many man-to-man markers like Cannavaro. They better hurry up because this is likely his last World Cup coming up and they will have no one to replace him.
Back to the topic...keep Ibra in instead of Trez - Ibra's more dangerous and despite getting a verbal lashing by Capello has produced some fine plays in recent games. And I'd put in Pessoto over Blasi just because his positional sense is superior and Kovac can cover for his decreased pace + you have Camoranesi on that flank who is more than adequate to help the attack without needing Blasi to go forward.
Also I agree with Davor, Inter's not the team to experiment with, and I doubt that Capello will.

if nedved and camoranesi help defensively...then we can definately squash inter and all their offensive attemps. I think our midfield can control the game well, and if Ibrahimovich knows what to do in front of goal i see juve winning at least with 2 goals.
Individual to watch for inter: Figo, Adriano
Individual to watch for Juve: Ibrahimovich
What might be the key figure of initiating the goals
for Juve: Camoranesi, Nedved (Vieira maybe as well)
For inter: Pizzarro

Fabio Capello says he has “positive vibes” about Sunday’s Derby d’Italia and has cleared the air with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“I have positive vibes about the match, as confidence is high following our recent victories,” noted the Juventus Coach. “Our qualities will face off against Inter’s and it has the spirit of a decisive game, even if it’s only Week 6 and there is plenty of time to make up lost ground.”
Inter have won on their last two Serie A trips here – plus a victory in August’s Italian Super Cup – but the Bianconeri are coming into this meeting off the back of seven consecutive wins between domestic and Champions League competition.
“This will be a completely different game to the Super Cup. Inter are one of our rivals for the Scudetto and I hope it’ll be a tough but sportsmanlike match. With these strike forces, I expect the defences will have to be very careful. We’ll try to find their weak point.”
Both sides have minor injury worries, as although Lilian Thuram has a muscular problem and Juan Sebastian Veron is suffering from flu symptoms, both players are in their respective squads. Jonathan Zebina and Sinisa Mihajlovic are out.
“The result of this game will be above all important psychologically,” added Capello. “You don’t need to motivate players for such a big fixture, so if anything my job now is to calm the tension.”
There was tension of another kind following the midweek Champions League win over Rapid Vienna, as Capello’s post-match comments were highly critical of “egotistical” Ibrahimovic.
“I have spoken to Ibra and there is no problem at all with him,” assured the tactician. Ibrahimovic should be able to start despite skipping training for two days with a bruised foot, which means Alessandro Del Piero will miss his first Serie A Derby d’Italia start since 1994.
Meanwhile, midfielder Ruben Olivera has been sidelined for at least three weeks by a left thigh strain suffered during training.
Juventus squad: 3 Chiellini, 4 Vieira, 6 Kovac, 7 Pessotto, 8 Emerson, 9 Ibrahimovic, 10 Del Piero, 11 Nedved, 12 Chimenti, 14 Balzaretti, 16 Camoranesi, 17 Trezeguet, 18 Mutu, 19 Zambrotta, 20 Blasi, 21 Thuram, 22 Bonnefoi, 23 Giannichedda, 25 Zalayeta, 26 Gladstone, 28 Cannavaro, 32 Abbiati

Roberto Mancini has reaffirmed Inter’s desire to win at the Stadio Delle Alpi this evening and fuelled the often bitter rivalry with Fabio Capello.
“We will play to win and so will Juventus. We are at the start of the season and in such a delicately balanced tie absolutely anything could happen. Even if we lose, it won’t be a disaster, so we must try to get the three points.”
The Nerazzurri have won their last two Serie A trips here, plus the Italian Super Cup in August, and have the opportunity to catch their rivals at the top of the table.
“Two great sides that are both on fine form will face off, so it should be entertaining,” smiled Mancio. “Milan are also strong despite the fact they are a few points behind, so the title race is still wide open. It’ll definitely be a difficult season for everyone with European ties and internationals.”
There are doubts over the fitness levels of Juan Sebastian Veron and Obafemi Martins, but the Coach is in confident mood.
“Veron was already better on Saturday and his temperature was dropping. He’ll make the trip to Turin and then we’ll see what happens. Martins is absolutely fine.”
The Derby d’Italia has always been a hotbed of tension and their most recent clash, Inter’s 1-0 Super Cup victory decided in extra time, was no different.
“It was an open and hard-fought match, but I do not agree with those Juventus representatives who said they deserved to win. Both sides had good chances and it could’ve gone either way – that’s the fun of games like this. As for the tension, this is the Derby d’Italia, there is a Century of history behind this tie.”
One of the biggest verbal battles was between the two Coaches, stretching back from Mancini’s days at Lazio when his arch-rivals were Fabio Capello’s Roma.
“We are nearly, nearly, nearly, nearly friends now,” he smiled. “We come from different eras of football and it’s easier for me to feel comfortable when talking to a Coach my own age. I have many years of experience ahead of me and hope to win as much, or even more, than Capello.”
Inter squad: Toldo, Julio Cesar, Orlandoni; Cordoba, Burdisso, Ze Maria, Favalli, Materazzi, Samuel, Wome; Stankovic, Figo, Pizarro, Veron, Kily Gonzalez, Cambiasso, Solari, Boumsong; Cruz, Adriano, Recoba, Martins

Juan Sebastian Veron will not be able to play tonight’s big match against Juventus due to a flu virus, confirmed the official Inter website.
The Argentine has been suffering from the illness over the last few days and Coach Roberto Mancini claimed his temperature was dropping.
However, Veron’s condition worsened overnight and he has been ruled out of the top of the table showdown at the Stadio Delle Alpi.
This opens the door for ex-Udinese midfielder David Pizarro to start in the centre after scoring his first Nerazzurri goal in the 1-0 Champions League win over Glasgow Rangers midweek.
Pizarro was very close to completing a transfer to Juventus before he opted for Inter in the summer

JUVENUTS 2 - 0 INTER
22' Trezeguet
34' Nedved
Both of them off of set pieces. Ibra hits a shot which gives a rebound to Trez. Nedved bends the second with a great curling free kick.
The Mattress busts up Ibra with a horrible challenge.
Mancini confused me by sending on Recoba and Cruz to form a seeming 4-2-4. I'm not sure about this guy  and his tactics!
And it looks like Abbiatti is coming around given a starting job, he had a good match and looked fairly solid, especially in coming off his line.
how about them Juveees lol great win for juve! WHO IS NEXT!?

Fabio Capello and Roberto Mancini have both singled out the Juventus team spirit as the key to tonight’s victory.
“The final result is what’s important, but tonight we proved that we can match quality with a great temperament and character,” said the Juve Coach after the 2-0 win over Inter. “We were consistently determined all over the pitch and really wanted this win.”
Both goals in the Derby d’Italia came from set-pieces, scored by David Trezeguet and Pavel Nedved in the first half.
“We have two strong strikers who can hold up the ball and cause problems for their defenders, so we tried to make the most of that by earning free kicks. I was pleased with the concentration and humility shown by my side, as they allowed Inter very little and showed a great team spirit.”
Juventus have become the first Serie A side since the three points for a win rule was introduced to maintain a 100 per cent record after six games.
There was bad news for the Bianconeri, as all three substitutions were forced by injuries to Lilian Thuram, Trezeguet and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede was hacked down by a vicious Marco Materazzi challenge and Inter were fortunate to maintain 11 men on the field.
“Thuram was a doubt anyway and felt his condition worsen, so he was replaced as a precautionary measure. As for Materazzi’s foul on Ibrahimovic, the video images need no comment. I don’t want to launch accusations at anyone.”
The midfield was the key element in this victory and Patrick Vieira is taking on an increasingly important role.
“Vieira is a great player who can create play as well as break it up, but Emerson, Mauro Camoranesi and Nedved did the same job in midfield tonight,” noted Capello. “Gianluca Zambrotta started his career as a forward, but has become a fantastic defender and I’ve not found anyone who can beat him in a one-on-one. He’s fairly unique in that left-back position.”
Nerazzurri boss Mancini echoed Capello’s analysis of what won Juventus the Derby d’Italia.
“I think that Juve had that extra desire and aggression in the first half that we didn’t, which is disappointing,” said the Inter Coach. “Their pressure on our midfield stopped the service reaching our strikers.”
The visitors fought back after the break and brought some saves out of Christian Abbiati, but even with four strikers on the field couldn’t find a way back into the game.
“The players understood that their mental approach was the wrong one and tried to change that in the second half. Had we scored a goal, then it would’ve turned into a very different game, but we were unlucky with our finishing.”
Inter are now six points adrift of leaders Juventus and behind Milan and Fiorentina, who are tied together in third place.
“It’s not a disaster, as there are another 32 games to play, but we need to find that desire to dominate when it comes to big games like this.”
MATERAZZI SAYS SORRY
What's the best way to beat Juventus? Why, kick their star striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic out of the game.
Or so Inter defender Marco Materazzi thought as he crudely took out the Swede, who produced yet another inspired performance for the Turin giants, on the brink of half-time.
Unfortunately for Materazzi, his side were already 2-0 down, although Fabio Capello's side failed to score after Ibrahimovic's exit, so the tactic could prove fruitful if used from the off.
Still, it all ended in good cheer as the Inter stopper explains:
"At the end of the match I went into the Juve dressing room and asked to say sorry to Ibrahimovic. I met up with him and we cleared it up, had a hug and ended up smiling."
One can assume the Swede was grinning at the fact that, despite such promise, Inter have failed yet again at their first big test.
