manchester united are currently working on new contracts with four of their stars.

andy cole is all but set to sign a new deal that will keep him at united for life. the contract is reportedly worth the same as roy keane and should be completed within the next 2 weeks

ryan giggs and jaap stam are also set to sign for life. i havn't heard much about them but there contracts will be finished up soon after coles deal is done.

david beckham's deal is not as simple. very little has been done so far because united are waiting to complete the other deals before they start him. but united are ready to make him the highest paid player at the club. becks reportedly wants 100,000 a week which is 30,000 more than the highest player now (keane).

Keane is not on 70 000 a week. Hes on 52 000 p/w.
I heard Beckham wants something like 55 000 - 60 000 p/w. And I personally think he doesnt, as he loves United.
Cole is reportadly asking for 60 000 p/w, I dont think he's worth that (well no player is, but we wont go into that).
Giggs is worth every penny, but again, I personally dont think he wants too much, he has always said he would probably finish his career at Utd

your right i think it is 52,000 now that i think of it. and you are also right about giggs. he has said that he is not going to be greedy and expects to sign a new deal before summer. but unfortunatly you are not right about beckham. his agents want a 100,000 a week contract. he has not said anything yet but then again he has not denied it either. but i did hear the # 70,000 a week for someone. maybe that is what united have offered beckham. i don't know but i know i heard that number somewhere.

Yeah, I read today that Beckham wants £100 000 p/w. I dont believe it to be true though as we all know what tabloids are like! It probably is more like £70 000, which is quite reasonable, comparing, with top European players, I mean.

well i wouldn't say that it isn't true. that number came from his agent. but when becks meets with united i am sure they will get a deal done around 70,000. good news is that becks said that he doesn't want to play anywhere else and wants a new deal with united.

I was reading a local Manchester paper today (metro) and aparently Beckham has said to them that the reports in the tabloids are totally incorrect and he has not even began to have talks with Man Utd yet.
