OK peoples, since there's so much bashing of each other's countries going around, I decided to make this thread so users can mention some of the places they want to visit in their lifetimes. Post your's here and tell us why.

My first choice is Cuba. An authentic destination with beautiful beaches and women. The people love to party and much of the island is in a time warp. Gotta go before Fidel passes.

My second choice is Isfahan because it is such an ancient city with amazing architecture. Iran has not been commercialised like other places, so you won't find McDonalds or Westfields there. It's another authentic destination.

Finally, I'd like to go to St Petersburg in Russia, because I've heard it's one of the most beautiful cities in the world and I love vodka. :D

Philipas, Cuba, Iran and Russia are one of the places I would like to visit the most. Cuba and Iran exactly for the reasons you mentioned. Russia because I am a Russian sympathiser :p and I want to see their architecture, see how Russian orthodox monasteries are and for Russian women of course :D.
I also want to visit Canarian isles and Hawai because of their great natural beauty. As for last, I would like to visit China because of the nice landscapes as well as for the ancient monuments and landmarks of one of the two (incomparable) greatest civilizations of mankind togehter with Greece.

There are so many places I want to visit and so little time, my number one is Greece- Athens and Thessaloniki which speak for themselves (thankfully this wish will be fulfilled this year :D). I would also love to visit South America particularly Brazil and the amazon, before the rainforests are wiped out. Other places i'd love to visit include; France and Italy (beautiful cities and great shopping), The scandinavian countries (great landscapes), Russia (amazing architecture), USA (all the hollywood stuff), Japan (fascinating culture) and New Caledonia (remote tropical island with a touch of Europe). I think i've named half the world :)

Have you watched a performance there? My town is not too far from Epidauros I am watching about all the performances in summer. No I haven't. It is one of my dreams. It must be awesome not only to see a performance there, especially an ancient play, but to know that you're in the place where it all began, before Rome and well before Hollywood. Cool man, Cooooooooooooool................

Man Split sucks! Dubrovnik is kick ass though.

Ive been fortunate enough to have travelled around Europe, the US and Asia, and I must say some really nice places are -

Switzerland - Its just so classy

Bavaria - Amazing scenery, Rheinland is excellent too.

Northern Italy - I like all of Italy but i found the North to be the best for me.

Paris - Awesome place! Amazing architecture, so beautiful!

Singapore - Great city, excellent for shopping.

New York - Best place in the US!

Overrated places - Los Angeles, man what a craphole... London is pretty bad too, Amsterdam.

After me and the other half slaving our asses off at work for the last six months (and next year as well...), we've managed to save up enough to go either the Cayman Islands (I've been before to visit my brother who was working on a building site, loved the place..) or Antigua.

Since neither of us has been to Antigua, looks like that's going to win.

They're both in the carribean. Brilliant sandy beaches and crystal clear water.

Considering Scottish beaches have dog sh*t covered sand and condom and tampon infested waters, you can see why we're looking forward to going...;) :D

that looks like mexico, which is one of my favorite places to go. i want to go to hong kong, but that is merely to exploit the booming stock market and earn me a bit of money.

i also want to go to pukhet, i have a friend whose uncle owns a hotel there and a house so that would be fun. the uncle is a man utd fan so i should get a nice discount. it looks incredible there.

the nicest place i have been is Lord Howe Island, off the coast of Austrailia. look it up its incredible. probably the most pristine jungle in the world with great beaches.

Amore,

I know more about your Pugglia than you imagine: I even have some verses for you taken from the staircase of a house in your province...

Dedicated to you:

http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/347/scalagb0.jpg

A poem of Torquato Tasso (Italian poet, Sorrento - Naples 1544 - Rome 1595) written on the staircase of a house of Polignano in the south of Italy:

“perduto è tutto il tempo che in amor non si spende”

I can try to translate:

“Lost is all time not spent with love”...
