At this moment, considering how they played in their most immediate game:

My Ideal if all are fit and readily available:

............................Buffon......................................
........Cannavaro........Nesta............Grosso................
...Camoranesi.......Pirlo......Gattuso.......Zambrotta (back in the wing)
.............................Totti.......................................
.......Gilardino......................Cassano.......................

Subs:

GK: Roma, Peruzzi
RB: Bonera, Ferrari, Oddo
CB: Materazzi if necessary
LB: Chiellini - it's a hard one between him and Grosso, but Grosso has been absolutely excellent in Italy's last two games to discount him at the moment.
Midfield: Barone, Esposito, Diana, Del Piero (in Totti's position if Totti isn't performing) De Rossi
Forward: Toni, Iaquinta, Lucarelli, Vieri

These players leave alot available to Lippi in terms of formation. Zambrotta can always start at LB, but since Grosso has been doing excellently there, then Zambrotta can also go to RB (as he did vs Scotland in the game and performed well) or back to leftwing.

But that leaves 27 and we can only bring 23 so it means that one of Bonera, Ferrari, Iaquinta, or Lucarelli won't be making it, IMO.

I like the starting 11.

Maybe I would use 4 man defence with Oddo (or Bonera) in RB. But how coulld i not start Zambrotta??? He us super when inform. If Cassano is inform and in good mood, I would love to see him startin. But Luca Toni is good alternativ.

True, if Oddo comes in at RB, then it has to be at the expense of Grosso or Z, and it ain't going to be Z. Grosso has been in superb form lately so it's hard to keep him out too. I guess it will depend on form at the time of the games, as per usual.

Ciao

What u think about DeRossi. Would u use him instead of Gattuso?

No chance. Gattuso may not have skill like Re Rossi, but he's a role player and we need him to scare the shit out of the opposition  Joking aside, Gattuso is, IMO, currently the best DM in the world. He shouldn't be shooting ;) but only retrieving balls deep, and then dishing them off to Pirlo who is a deeper playmaker and can get the ball out wide to Camoranesi or into the middle where Totti will be waiting for it. De Rossi only makes the squad if his form is top notch and we need someone at right wing....IF...they decide to keep Zambrotta at LB....OR....if there is an injury to one of the other midfielders.

The Toni vs Cassano thing would be dependant on the team we're facing. If they have big strong defenders who are good in the air, then maybe Toni for sure, but if we need some creativity and lateral movement then Cassano is the man!

Oddo can be drafted to the right wing, his crossing abilities are amazing, the cross which he made against Messina was one such example. Simply class

I would use him as Right back where he can join the attack when needed.
Camoranesi will play in right wing

I have seen him for 3 seasons regularly in Lazio now. His biggest short coming is his defending abilities. He joins the attack very well, and he is able to hit those 40-50 yard crosses which puts the defense on the backtrack, and that could be very effective against tight defenders, especially if we have a target striker like Gilardino or Luca Toni

No Camoranesi is better with short through balls, and is good at retrieving in midfield. Oddo should come with the team, IMO...perhaps joining Milan would also be very good for him at some point, before Maldini retires and while Nesta is in his prime so he can observe some masters in action.

Grosso was super against Inter last night. OMG maybe this really mean Zambrotta will be in midfield maybe...We can't but him in bench, can we?
