I agree... not jjst schocking, but also unnecessary. now England have to win against Austria and Poland to go top. Why does SGE use Rooney as a winger/support striker. Rooney is a central striker. I didnt see the game, saw the highlights, and read the match report. They said England didnt create any real goal scoring threats in the entire game leaving one Michael Owen chance which he messed up. Is that true?

If I was in SGE's place, this would be my starting line up for the remaining matches
---------------------------Robinson--------------------------------
---Neville------Terry-----Carragher---------A.Cole--------
---Beckham-------Gerrard-----Lampard-----Joe Cole
-----------------Defoe-----Rooney------

the reports said gerrard and lampard had an awful game also? Thats also unbelivable.

That's not fair. In Lampard and Gerrard we have 2 of the best CMs in the world, in Cole one of the best left backs, Rooney could potentiolly become the one of the best strikers in the world, Beckham the best free-kick and corner taker in the wrold etc.
We have a good team, but Sven just isn't right.
SACK HIM

The biggest mistake of that match vs Ireland was taking SWP off, he was creating and making the best chances and was making Ireland look like they were gonna lose easily. Then suddenly Sven subs him.

Sven Goran Eriksson gets 1000 pounds per minute during every England match and 10 million pounds per year.

There is defineatly something wrong here.

Now you know why he (SGE) flaps-his-jack so much...he's fallen for the hype machine and the people of England and their FA are under his spell. The BBC is reporting that his job is still safe, but if/when he fails in the WC he'll be axed on the spot. If he wins, he should retire immediately.

on the topic of Beckham (sorry Becks-smod)....but...

Beckham is still useful for crosses, however the team is growing past him.

IMO SGE's insistance on using him all the time, or as his key player, is going to be a downfall.

With Lampard and Gerrard (two similar players) in the midfield, England needs some diversity and Beckham might be the one to suffer from replacement. I think England needs a "Scholes" back on the team. Anyhow think he'll come out of retirement?

I know Hargraeves was in favor with SGE as a DM. Is there anyone else coming up through the ranks that can fullfill this role?

veryyy good formation, but maybe OWen for Rooney. Defoe is actually in trouble of losing his place according to SGE, because he cant play "All around" what a bunch of Bull, Defoe is young and talented as ***k
